The Happening Worth The Price of The Ticket?

Has anyone seen The Happening? I have read mixed reviews on the film, most unfavorable. M. Night Syamalan hasn't had a critically aclaimed movie (not that the critics are always right) since The Signs and those reviews were mixed too. I personally liked The Signs, The 6th Sense and the Village wasn't bad until the ending. I didn't bother with Lady in the Water and wonder if I should bother with The Happening.

I watched this movie at night midweek. If I had to do it again, I'd probably watch it during a matinee to save myself the money. The movie was just OK, but I had higher expectations for it. I really thought the premise was interesting - I don't want to spoil it by telling you what was causing the outbreak - but the ending was a little bit of a let down. Mark Wahlberg, though not one of my favorite actors, was actually quite funny in some scenes. I still think Shamylan's best movie was his first: The Sixth Sense. That movie was superb. This one, just O.K.

Thank you. I've heard the same sentiment about the film. It's hard for Shamylan trying to live up to The Sixth Sense. I think I'll wait for this film on DVD.

I always wait until the movie comes out on DVD. I think the Happening is going to be a good scary movie. I can't wait until it comes out!
