rice is one of the no-no's in dieting. but coming from a country that eats rice with every meal, i find i hard not to do so. my question is: is eating rice really a big factor in my weight gain? should i stop eating rice?

No, rice is not a major factor in weight gain. Rice should be ate in the right proportion but it does not contribute much to weight problem so don't try to stop eating it altogether. This is because you are used to eating rice often therefore stop eating it altogether will only cause you to feel hungrier and will not help in weight lose.

Eating lots of rice sure will do affect our weight gain, specially when we eat it a lot at dinner, i usually just reduce my rice portion, specially at dinner, since after dinner we usually don't do much activities..just relaxing, than go to sleep, it makes the carbohydrate not wholly burned up and that what makes us gain more weight. Exercise will help a lot too, some peoples also says it's better change rice with wheat, it's healthier.

Rice is a starch, and can lead to weight gain if over consumed. It is however also very healthy for you as well, and is low in fat. If you try cutting your portion size, at each meal, in half you might find you will have good results. Increase your water intake, and do a little bit of exercise at least 5 days a week.
