Do you always look for lyrics?

I am not ashamed to admit I am a person who enjoys old songs. I don't know why but I think songs of old are more sensible. Even the dance songs have lyrics that say something. Many dance music now are just instrumentals, DJ scratch work, weird sounds, repetitious one or two lines and then that's all you hear from start to end. Of course dance music are meant for dancing but don't you think it's also nice to listen to dance music while you are hearing some words that would make you think and let you relate your life to? Listen to the disco music of the 80's. They still sound nice to me. What about you? When it's a disco music, do you think it should be with less or without lyrics at all?

I like songs with lyrics.. And same here, in terms of dance music, i will very much prefer the 1980s because they are much more lively and not so bored with just music and no lyrics.. ANd i do find that, dance music with lyrics sounds better than plain music alone.. hehe

Yes, we have the same thought about it. I also like to sing along. So, it's really odd if I only hear instruments but I can't hear words. Especially if I don't feel like standing up to dance because usually, I would just like to put my headphones on and groove a little on my seat. It's a perfect time to sing along if the disco music has something sensible to say.

Hello clowdine, I also love old songs and I find it very soothing and great. When it comes to disco music, I am nto paying attention a lot to the lyrics, as long as I love the rhythm, I will be dancing on it..LOL~!

I love old songs too. Back in the day, everything was sensible, lol. Most of the songs these days reek of material possessions and such. I'd much rather listen to something that speaks to me. I don't know much about disco music, so I can't answer that. I need to hear more instruments than loud beats.

I enjoy 95 percent of my sound tripping by listening to old songs. And I also think the artists of previous decades have a stricter standards. Nowadays, anyone can just sing.

I agree with you, I like music with lyrics. There is still a lot of it about, you just have to avoid heavy metal music and rave and some dance. Other music tends to have more to it in terms of lyrics. I am a fan of some old songs, but not all of them. I like a mix between the new and the old, but more of the new as those are the songs that people will be talking about, playing, singing along to etc.

The majority of the songs I like are oldies but there are a few songs now that are new to my ears, original, and they sound great. They are usually the slower beats.

I'm more into singing too. Music for me is somewhat incomplete without words. With the exception of a few musical pieces that I wouldn't want any other way. I would want them to stay as they are like "Somewhere in time." I would not want to have that sung. I just want it played by instruments, no lyrics. But generally, the music I listen to should have lyrics.
