Do you believe in family curses? Do you believe you could break the cycle? Things such as divorce, anger, poverty seem to run on and on in some families. Is it possible to be different than others in your family?

Oh yes, my family has many of them. On my father's side, divorces, on my mother's side, trouble with men and mental insanity.

Is it because of the example set in front of future generations or because it's a personality trait that is passed on?

I wonder if it's possible to change yourself or your destiny just by being aware that there could potentially be a problem?

yes, i believe that you can be different. after all, you write your own book, nobody can do that for you. you may choose to live your life as you want it.

It's been awhile since I've heard the term -- writing your own book, but you are right. Only you can choose who you want in your book and what you want to happen in your story. Life is a choice - every single day.

I dont beleive in family curses. I dont think s that there is any curse on my family. See angry is a personality trait which is pssed on through genes. You cannot do anything about that. And I dont think so it is right to call it a family curse.

No curse. Comming from a family with a high divorce rate just means that a person has had the opportunity to see what doesn't work and therefore is most likely to repeat the choices made by previous family members. Breaking the cycle involves getting outside of the family and learning what it takes to make a marriage work. If you want to make a million dollars, then ask someone who has how you can do it. If you want a successful marriage ask someone who has one how to do it. Life IS that simple.

It is hard to break the cycle but you are right, most of the time we mirror the example put in front of us.

There are times that I swear there is a curse on my family. Murphy's law runs my house. If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. But then I realize that it could be worse. There are people worse off than me.
