Reading the newspaper and online news will help you to update yourself from current events. Then, try to borrow some manual from a friend who were able to take the said exam, it will help a lot!

Once you will take time to review by your own like 1 hour a day until your exam day, you will just do fine. I remember with my friends, we took it without having any review since we don't have money to pay and we were fresh graduate that time, we made it, prayer also will help you!

haha.. i know... i just realized i needed the exam monday afternoon.. and now, wednesday (here in our country), i'm going to a city here where walk in examiners are allowed. if i get lucky and someone didn't show up for the exam, i can take his place and take the exam now,.. it's currently 12.30am here, so i'll wake up about 6am later and take a bus ride for about 2hours and by 9am, hopefully, i'll be there... sigh...

Hi! Have you taken the exam? How was it? Anyway, when I first took the sub-prof CS exam before I graduated from college, I was not really ready for it. I just took the computer-aided exam and that was it. I had a good rating. Last October 2007, I took the prof CS exam and got the result in January of this year. I really prepared for this exam because I heard that it was a difficult one. Well, I realized that it was not really that difficult. Nonetheless, I did not lose anything by preparing for it. It pays off to read the newspaper and be updated with current events.

One thing I could share to you is just be very careful in answering. Double check your answers if you still have time. Answer those easy questions first so youll have time to answer more, than sticking to a hard question, you will lost most of your limited time. Then don't forget to pray, I know only few passed civil service exams so better prepare yourself before taking it. Good luck!

It would be helpful if you will start maximizing the internet to browse current events topics like go to online sites of your local newspaper or dailies. Start tuning in to news feeds from your television. Good luck!

Try to put your review concentration on general information on Philippine Constitution, Human Rights Issues and concepts, Environment Management and Protection, and Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A.6713)and of course, National Anthem (in Filipino language) and Panata Makabayan. Good luck!!!

Hi posham, I already took civil service exam (professional) when I'm in 3rd Year college... As far as I remember, there are only few questions regarding Current Events.. I suggest, you focus on Math and English (vocabulary, reading comprehension, etc..)
