i want to discontinue my postpaid line in one service provider and maybe apply under a differnt service provider.... but then i'm having a hard time letting go of my current number which i've had for almost 6yrs... all my friends and acquaintances have that number already and i think it'll be difficult to change numbers.. how about you? how often do you change numbers and how do you deal with it?

Yes i know its difficult to change numbers after having it for a long time. Try and message your new number to all your friends. I have changed my number quiet a few times and its really been difficult to contact friends. Thanks for orkut and other social networking sites. Some how with that i could still contact my friends and give them my new number.

well, it's cool since most of my friends migrate elsewhere... haha.. sometimes we even became closer than when we were just in the same school or neighbourhood...

don't really change numbers that often.. but just this month though I started changing numbers. well I had a prepaid line and decided to change it cause the sim card was old school (it didn't have the technology the new sim cards have haha).. and I needed these features, so I changed. Gave the sim card to my Uncle. Now I have a post paid line with another provider. so I have 2 phones and have two numbers!

Hello posham, I had my old number for like 5 years and accidentally, my roommate destroyed it so I had to get another number, It was hard and I didn't like the idea but I have nothing to do. I just inform all my friends that I change my number and friends who are far and whom I don't have any YM, I wasn't able to contact anymore. If the offer of the other service provider is better that what you got, I will say go on and have it!

Dear friend, I would avoid to change my mobile number at present as it has been given to my relatives and many others who often contact me. Also I would also use it mostly for my own business matters. Hence I would avoid changing my mobile unless it may be canceled by the telephone authority.

yeah, specially when all of them know your current number then you have to inform them 1 by 1...it really takes time plus effort and also cash to call them or SMS them about your new number...specially if you have to inform alot of people!
