What was the last movie you saw in theaters?

I think the last movie I saw was "P.S. I Love You", which I thought would be more of a romantic comedy, but was actually quite depressing. Hopefully I did not give too much away, as you could have guessed this much from watching the commercials, but somehow I did not! I have been so disappointed by movies lately, that it is not worth the expense of going. I would like to go see Indiana Jones though. Some movies are meant to be seen on the big screen. What was the last movie you saw? What would you like to see next?

I haven't been to the cinema in ages. The last film I saw on the big screen was "Cloverfield" which was fantastic on this big screen and had a really unusual way of filming (It's done on hand-held cameras). I think I'll have to get it on DVD. I don't really want to see anything at the cinema at the moment. Nothing has really grabbed my attention and as I can't really afford it and I don't think I'd want to waste my money on a film I didn't really want to see in the first place.

I thought that because it was filmed in that way made the movie. I love the fact that you only know what your protaganists know, and there wasn't so much gore that it was impossible to watch. I've talked to a few people and found people have been divided on whether they like it or not...

I heard mixed reviews regarding "Cloverfield". I'm not sure I'd like it, but glad you did.

How was Indiana Jones? I plan to see it this week. Am still on the fence about seeing the Hulk, but I heard it was better than the last one.

I guess it was romantic, I just found it a little too sad. It was very sweet at times though. I do want to go see Indiana Jones, and that would be great at the drive-in! The only one in NJ is way too far for me to go just to see a movie though. Glad you enjoyed the movies you saw.

Ugh! LOL! The last movie I saw was "The Happening". The hubby and I saw it this past Friday which was the day it was released to theaters. It was ok...for what it was. The acting wasn't good and, it should have been because it had some good actors in it. Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel. But, the acting was bad...really bad. The fear wasn't good enough and even the lightening the mood humor didn't seem to fit. But, having said that, I actually think that the humor was the best part of this movie. I expected more from M. Night Shyamalan. Seriously...such a brilliant mind and such a glaring disappointment! We have a new theater down the street (3 miles down) from my house so, the hubby and I will likely be going to see movies at the theater more than we used to. We also want to see The Strangers, What Happens in Vegas, and when it comes out, Hancock. I know there are a few others we want to see but, I don't know if we will get around to it or not. So, the next one we see might be Hancock when it comes out in July. I think we might want to see Indiana Jones too.

My pleasure! And, it is supposed to be a little bit of a horror film. Not in the sense of something like Nightmare on Elm Street or Scream or any of the newer horror films. The short summary is that something is making people kill themselves throughout the Eastern U.S. People just get still, then they act confused, next thing you know, they are killing themselves through any means. So, a few people are fleeing together to get away from whatever is causing this and, it is a struggle to get away. It was just not great. And, I am pretty mellow about movies. There are rare movies that have me leaving thinking, Ugh...that is an hour and some minutes of my life I won't get back! LOL! This one didn't have me thinking or saying that but, it is close. I am glad I got to see it but, I wish that I had seen it on cable instead of spending money to see it in the theater. There are other movies I could have spent that money on. LOL!

I went to see "The Happening" on Friday as well, and I had pretty much the same reaction as you did. The acting was so bad that it had me wondering if they were directed to act that badly. It wasn't scary or even all that thought-provoking even though I'm sure it was meant to be. I went with my 12-yo son, my friend, and her 10-yo old son. About 15 minutes into the movie, my friend leaned over and said that she had the movie figured out and explained what her thoughts were. Sure enough, it was exactly what she thought, except that it sounded much more exciting coming from her than the actual movie made it out to be. And cortjo, you are absolutely right - the humor was the best part of the movie.

Thanks for the warning about "The Happening". I don't like horror movies much anyway (I assume it was supposed to be?)--they scare me too much! Not at the time, but later, driving home alone, etc. lol That's great that you have a nice new theater so close!

I thought P.S. I Love You was an alright movie to say the least. I went with an ex-girlfriend and wasn't expecting much more than a corny romantic comedy, but it turned out to be decent. Not a guy movie in the least, but it was alright. The last movie I saw in theaters was The Incredible Hulk.. ..and to tell you the truth, I thought it was amazing. I'm pretty sure that's the kid in me speaking. hah. For one I love Edward Norton and thought he played the role of Mr. Banner very well even though he wasn't too happy with his role in the movie. The lovely Miss Liv Tyler also played her role very well also. I thought the likeness to the comic was magnificent and the fact that they tied in Robert Downey Jr. who starred in another Marvel movie, Iron Man, into the Hulk was just perfect. Apparently they are going to put all of these movies (Fantastic 4, Batman, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk) together into one at the end and have a giant comic book movie going on. I'm sorry if no one is into comics or that sort of thing.. but it was done perfectly for those of you who are. I would of course recommend it to anyone who believes they might slightly enjoy it. And for the next I would like to see: Tropic Thunder. (Jack Black and Ben Stiller? It'll be a 10 out of 10) Hellboy 2. (Another one of the comic movies) Pineapple Express. (Looked extremely funny) I can't wait. =]

That's a phenomenal movie review of the Hulk. I've been looking forward to seeing that movie. I won't see it until it's out on DVD. But I can't wait. I was so afraid that it would be silly and overblown like many action comic book movies. Glad to hear it's not. I'm also looking for Hellboy. Enjoyed the first Hellboy tremendously. Thanks again, BeautyQueen

That's great, I miss the drive-in! There aren't any by me anymore. I remember seeing the second Star Wars movie (Empire Strikes Back??) in the drive-in as a kid, the late hour was a problem for me and my sister, too. We just wanted to see Star Wars, but they showed some other movie first! We didnt' make it through the whole movie. lol You have a great day too!

The last movie I saw in theaters was Bridge to Tarabithia...lol. I don't get to go to the movies much. Having 2 young kids makes it difficult. I don't really have any babysitters. Me and my 12 yr old daughter would like to try to go and see the new disney movie coming out Wall-E. We're going to try to get Dad to stay with the little ones. :)

The last movie I watched was this last weekend at the Drive-In (yes we still have a drive-in). They show 2 movies in the same night. We watched the Indiana Jones movie and I only made it half way through Iron Man. I was disapointed I didn't get to finish that second movie since the half I saw was really good. I was just too tired. I haven't seen the original Indiana Jones movies in ages but this new one was pretty good as well. Although, my fiance and I spent a good part of the movie talking about how there is no possible way that Harrison Ford could have ever done those stunts since he's gotten older. I love Harrison Ford always though.

Yes, Harrison Ford is good in anything, isn't he? I do wonder about the stunts, as I believe he always did most of them himself in the past. You're so lucky you still have drive-ins, I do miss them! The double-feature thing is great, but that does make it quite late!

The last movie I saw was The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I really enjoyed it other than the two times I had to jettison out of my seat to use the restroom, never ever buy a big drink when you want to watch a movie all the way through...The movie was great I thought, it was long which I loved, and Prince Caspian was perfectly perfect :) I thought it was beautifully done, and I can't wait to see all the others to come. But the next movie I'd like to see is The Dark Knight (Batman) I've been waiting forever for that one...although I'll probably yell at Batman every time I see him hurt the Joker...poor Heath.

I didn't see Prince Caspian, I just wan't sure I would like it. I tried to get into the books as a kid, and just couldn't for some reason, and I used to read anything! But if the movie is really so well done, maybe I will check it out. I am also looking forward to the Batman movie. I understand it will be a lot different from the previous ones; not sure if that is good or bad, but I guess we will see!
