Do you store your syrup in the refrigerator?

When I was a kid we stored our syrup in the refrigerator. So I just assumed that was how it was done. But yesterday when I made waffles, I noticed that they don't have a "refrigerate after opening" sticker on the syrup bottle. So which one should you do? Do you store your syrup in the fridge or not?

If it's Pure Maple Syrup it is supposed to be stored in the refrigerator, so I do that. But I leave the other kind out on the table.

I never even store my real maple syrup in the refrigerator. Maybe I need to read the label and see what it says.

I've never seen it there either, but I just have always done it.

I have always put my syrup in the refrigerator. I guess because I was raised that way. I have never seen syrup that said that myself.

Always in the cabinet, this is the first that I have heard of it being put in the frige. I had to look on the bottle to see if it said to refrigerate and the bottle said that it was not required. So it's in the cabinet and not the frige. I have not ever had to put it in the frige, but now I will pay attention to the bottle more. I guess there are those that are in the frige and others that are not. Have a good one.!!

Once the bottle has been opened I think you should put it in the fridge. It may not say so on the bottle, but that is probably because the company who makes it, wants it to go bad so you have to buy more, in my opinion. I think it has to be put in the fridge or it would go bad. I put everything in the fridge, once it has been opened. I know some people who don't put peanut butter in the fridge, or cheese whiz, or jams. I will not eat any of these things at someones elses house if it is not in the fridge. How can it not go bad? It can't. It has to go bad without being in the fridge.

I have never seen syrup kept in the refridgerator before. I have always kept mine on top of the fridge or in the cupboard I have worked for alot of restaraunts and none of them kept it in the fridge either I think cold syrup would be yucky.

I never put it in the refrigerator. There is enough sugar in it to prevent it from going bad. Besides, it makes it pour too slowly, and it makes my waffles cold. I keep the table syrup, corn syrup, and molasses in the cupboard, but I do keep the maple syrup in the fridge. For some reason it does say on the label to refrigerate after opening.

I looked, but couldn't find that. I wonder why they don't include it on the label for every bottle.

fridge - my father likes to in his own fridge. He has been in the habit for decades
Hello dear beauty queen. We don't place any syrup in the fridge, but my father likes to in his own fridge. He has been in the habit for decades.

I supposed it should not be stored because it will be thicker and difficult to apply. Anyway it wont get spoiled at once because it is sweet and cooked.

During the summer I put it in the fridge so that it keeps the ants away. In the winter though, it lives quite safely in my cupboard without any worries.

After the bottle is opened, I store it in the refrigerator. I guess if you use it a lot and will use the bottle up quickly you could leave it out, but it takes us a long time to go through one bottle, so I keep it in the fridge.

When I was a kid my mom kept it in the fridge. Now , that I have my own little house I keep it out in the open on a rack. My fiance always is fighting with me because he likes it in the fridge, because he likes it cold.

I take the opinion that if it comes in a bottle and you break the seal, it should be refrigerated. Heck refrigerate everything to be sure.

I do not store my syrup in the refrigerator. I understand that once you have put it in the fridge, that is where you need to store it. So the next bottle you get, do not store it in the refrigerator.

I keep mine in the pantry, it keeps it easy to pour.

I don't tend to have syrup in the house that often and when I do I tend to store it in a cupboard as the weather here is very rarely that hot anyway! I think we all have different preferences hoeny and if keeping it in the fridge works for you then why not! Hugs xxx

Real Maple Syrup will grow mold on the top of it after awhile if you do not refrigerate it. The normal everyday pancake syrup that most people have in their house does not need to be refrigerated though. Mine goes in the pantry.

I think it really doesnt matter if you store it or dont. Just have to keep it away from the ants. That's more important.
