How many gas stations are in the USA?

This has been on my mine for 2 years and still dont have the answer. I dont know how to even find out. What is your guess? Or do you know how to find this out?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of 2002, there were 117,100 gas service stations in the U.S., of which 84,700 had convenience stores.
