Have you ever tried to salvage a burned meal?

Today I made myself a quesadilla. The phone rang. And one side got more than a little burned. I cut off the burned part and ate the rest. Ever done something similar?

Oh, yes. I was raised in a family of 6 and , I guess, there was impressed upon me some idea of scarcity of resources. Then again, I believe my grandparents were around in the Great Depression and had some stories to share about that. I'm sure my Mom picked up something from that and passed it on to me.

With these days and times with everything so high costing you have to salvage what you can of a burned meal. Yes I do try to salvage what I can of a burned or slightly burned meal. Yes, I have now scorched is a little different it is harder to save a meal that is too scorched it just taste uck! so I would take burning a meal then scorching one. I think we have all ate something a little on the burned side before one time or another.

I've tried to rescue a burnt meal before, but usually it doesn't work out for me. I'm not sure why. I've heard there are techniques for cutting out the bad parts or scooping off the good part and only having that. But I've never been able to do it right, so now I don't try!

I have done this before. Just yesterday I burned my pizza a little bit, but I still ate it. I just ate around the burnt part.

The only thing that I seem to routinely burn is microwave popcorn. My microwave is quite powerful and I c an easily burn it if I dont actally hang out in the kitchen while the corn is popping. I cant remember the last meal I actually burned, but I know that it has happened.

It depends on what meal it is and how much it is burned. There is even some food which I like to be this way. For example I made some spanish tortilla recently and it was also more brown than it should be. In fact it was already burned a little bit. But I like the taste of it and I ate it with pleasure. If it is meat I don't like it at all and I rather would throw it away.

Mmm, quesadilla. I personally would've eaten it, but that's just me. I always try to salvage anything burned by getting as much burnt stuff off of it as I possibly can. I remember there was one time I burned a waffle really bad and made it into cereal, complete with milk, and it tasted good. I can't remember further details though. I never try to waste anything, so I salvage whenever it's possible.
