Guaranteed to make you laugh.

Yesterday was my birthday. And it is the most horrible birthday I have ever had. And I can guarantee that anyone who reads this will get a good laugh. I wound up with a bone disease in my jaw and had to have all my top teeth pulled little over a year ago. I hate having dentures. And I hate even more for someone to see me without my dentures. It embarasses me to be seen without them. Yesterday, when I got up, I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and clean my dentures. As I was brushing them, they slipped out of my hand and hit the side of the sink. They then ricocheted across the bathroom and bounced off the tub and landed in the toilet broke in half. Today, I had to go to the dentist and explain to him why my teeth were in such bad shape. By the time I got done explaining, he was rolling in the floor laughing at me. He told me that he could fix them and he would sterilize them since they landed in the toilet but I have to go three days without them. So now, I am either going to have to get over my embarassment of being without my teeth or I am going to have to hide for the next three days. What a way to spend a birthday!

it sounds like you had quiet an experience with your birthday lol and im not laughing at the face that all of that horrible stuff happened to you, it is just unbelievable how one of the happiest days of the year turns out to be so horrible for you! at least you are going to get your dentures back in a few days so that should give you something to look forward to...and lets just hope that on next years birthday that you don't go through the same things that you went through this year because that isn't a good way at all to spend your birthday...i know that i have had some bad days before and you just look back it and say wow i must have really had bad luck...but generally when something bad happens it turns out where something good can happen in the end...so good luck!

Next year, if anything bad happens, I am just going to stay in bed and hide.

ldybgsgma99 please forgive me for giggling while I read' this. what a calamity. and I do feel for you too. I am glad that they can be fixed but gee three whole days without them I can see where you will feel embarrassed but wont your friends and family be kind to you during this'time as that could have happened to anyone with dentures.ONe thing is all our modern bathrooms are made so small that something' like that could easily happen to anyone. lol.

My bathroom isn't big enough to turn around in so there weren't many places that my dentures could have landed. My kids are having a blast with this. They think it is so funny.

LMAO!! My hubby has dentures but he doesn't wear them because he needs to get them refitted. He puts them in and they fall out or gag him. I am used to seeing him without them and he's used to going without them. So are you going to hide for a few days? Hang in there, maybe you'll get over the embarrassment soon!

Oh my goodness, what a horrible experience! I was opening my mouth in horror rather than laughing or giggling. Gee, I'm not sure what I would do if I were in your shoes. Having no teeth for three days is going to be a nightmare come true; I'm wondering how are you going to chew your food, smile (or just opening your mouth, for that matter) or just going out of your home. My God, you're going to be so anti-social for these three days. Have you decided what you are going to do about it? But looking on the bright side, you don't have to brush your teeth for the next three days, so that will save you some energy and effort! I guess this is really one birthday to remember; I'm sure this is much worse than being "sabotaged" for your birthday!

ldybgsgma is my daughter. I wasn't there when this happened - I was at my youngest daughters because I had to drive to Chicago on Tuesday to pick up my man when he flew in from England. Hope she gets her teeth back pretty soon because on June 28th she has a wedding to go to - mine. She has had so much trouble since she had her teeth pulled and this latest is just the icing on the cake. Today I am driving again - down to see ldybgsgma. I know I won't be getting one her usual big smiles when I get there.
