A friend of mine has tole ma about this Oil Pulling thing. It is sometimes called Oil Swishing or sometimes they call this Oil Therapy. It is said that every morning before eating breakfast you are supposed to gargle or swish a tablespoon of oils preferably Sesame or sunflower Oil in your mouth for several minutes until the oil become frothy before you spit it out. This is said to cure many diseases and is also one of the recommended methods to detoxify your body. This is the site http://www.oilpulling.com/ and there are many testimonials in there that proves this therapy works for them. i ahven't tried it yet and I would like to ask from mylot members if anyone has tried this already.

My friend I think I should really thank you for posting a very informative topic and even adding a link about this. I read the link and I find it very useful. I've been having problem with loosening teeth due to gingivitis and I hope that Oil Pulling will help me solve this problem. I will start my ritual tomorrow and for any good result, I surely will inform you. Again, thank you very much!

Thanks for being interested in it. I too am looking forward but that kind of oil is rare in my place or if we have it is usually is pricey. I cannot just start yet but I love hearing from you again if it proves to be effective.

How come it doesn't mention why it has to be oil? Anything that you somewhat chew but not swallow will activate the enzymes in your body (even chewing a gum) and cause you to "detoxify" - Personally, I have a sensitive stomach and triggering my stomach like that in the morning might cause an acid reflux. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

That is very unusual. I can not imagine using oil in this way to detoxify the body. You will have to keep up informed once you have tried doing it.
