Do you turn off your mobile phone when you go to bed at night?

My sister always asks me to turn off my cellphone. We all know the radiation, some say don't use your right ear, try the left one, cause the right will cause bigger harm; and some others say don't use the mobile phone it there's only one battery left, cause at that time the radiation is 100 times bigger. As no body will call you, generally speaking in the midnight, so my sister urges me to turn off it. Well, i used to turn off every day. But now i gradually don't do this. I sometimes forget, and i'd think it's only 6 or 7 hours left, it has to be turned on early tomorrow morning when i wake up. Do you turn off? Please share **Enjoy life~~**

I turn mine off when I get into bed and switch one when I wake I have an Angel battery in mine which eliminates the biological effects of the radiation from a mobile phone but I only use mine for emergency and not to talk much really. Ellie:D

I normally leave my cell phone on but no one calls me. The only time i use my cell phone is to call my wife if I am at home to check on how the kids are doing.

I never turn my phone off at night, mainly because I use it as an alarm clock and also I like to check the time if I wake up in the night. But also I leave it on because you never know if you are going to get a phone call in the middle of the night. Bad news usually waits until the early hours and as our house phone is downstairs we would never hear it!

Thanks, gemini_rose. My cellphone will activate the alarm even it has been turned off. That's good. Yeah, i do know that some brand of cell phone don't have this kind of function. But an alarm will easily replace it, it's not expensive. I agree bad news usually happens in the middle night, but i hope there won't be a piece of bad news. So better turn off But yeah, you can leave it if you have certain reasons for it. Enjoy life

Maybe you'll be waken up by the tone if you don't turn it to silent mode. And i guess there's radiation.

I don't turn my cellphone off at night or any day. I always leave it on even when charging. There was studies that these are just myths and not factual basis at all. I even seen one show that claimed that you could pop you popcorn on a ringing cellphone. It was done on a live TV and it showed that non did really pop out.

I think what you saw was the youtube video that shows that popcorns really popout. What I saw was one of those daily morning shows that mimic the youtube video. They were suspecting that they put something hot underneath that prompted the popcorns pop out. Because they did what is excatly shown in the video but none of the popcorn really pop out.

I'm not too worried about radiation, it seems that lately it has become clear that there is really no danger (the whole scare was probably started by the traditional phone companies anyway LOL). And I don't turn it off at night because I use mine as a an alarm clock. Once a year maybe I get a call at 3:00 in the morning, somebody trying to reach his/her sweetheart, and getting the phone number wrong, but that's about it. And that's ALL I do with my cellphone, I use it as an alarmclock and to receive and make phone calls. I don't listen to music, I don't make movies, not even photos...

No! I won't. I have it on silence anyway and therefore it won't wake me up. I guess I am too lazy to turn it off at night and then turn it on again.

wow, lazy, i have to say. We are afraid of missing some important calls, as you turn it silent, why not turn it off, it may take the same time for you to press the button.

I don't turn off my mobile phone when I go to bed at night. Because my mobile phone is a smartphone, although it has so many nice features. However, it also has one shortcoming. That is when I turn it off, the alarm won't ring by itself next day. Since I regard my cellphone as an alarm clock, so I won't turn it off. I love China

I try to, most of the times... There are few times when I keep it on at night, when my daughter stayed over night at her friend's house, when my girl friend was sick & ended up in hospital for 3 days, etc, etc... But normally, I turn my phone off at night when I go to sleep...

No. My phone should always be available all the time. So that they can contact me even in the middle of the night. I always check my phone everytime I drink water between the time of 2-3am.

I don't turn off the mobile phone at night. It is there in my bag, just in case there's a call or message in case of emergency call from family / relatives. There's so many sources of radiation that we can be exposed to, like the computer, television sets, not just the cell phones.

Hello, joyce, sorry for my late response. Yeah, there're many sources of radiation, that's why I try to reduce with my best effort. I don't turn off because i'm afraid of missing important calls from boss or colleagues. Lynette

no i don't turn it off coz im using it as my alarm phone in the morning.,thats why im placing it underneath my pillow.,thanks for that info! have a nice day ahead! see you around!
• China
26 Jun 08
Wow, put it underneath your pillow? You can put it somewhere else, you can still hear the alarm. So far as i know, if you set an alarm and turn off the cellphone, some mobiles will turn on automatically when it's the right time in the morning. Lynette

I don't turn my cell phone off at night. I don't charge it at night while I'm sleeping though. My cell phone is the only phone I use, so I leave it on in case of emergencies.

Thanks for sharing the idea friend. I have heard that we should not be too much addicted to mobile phones because its radiation effects are very harmful. Very rarely I switch off my mobile at night. But now onwards I will try to keep it off to be on the safer side.

Normally, I turn off my cell phone when I go to bed at night. Because I don't want to be disturbed by wrong numbers at night. But I will turn on my cell phone when I wake up in the morning.

Hey, curious, you're right, sometimes wrong numbers will disturb us. You know recent years, there are also numbers call on purpose and hang before you ask it. Then if you call back your mobile will be charged maybe 10RMB for making that phone. I hate those guys who make benefits from this.

I don't turn off my phone at night. However, I also don't keep it that near me that it should cause harm, I hope. It's usually somewhere on my nightstand or even sometimes in a different room. I think as long as you don't constantly keep your cellphone near your body, it should be fine. I like to leave it on just in case a do get a call in the middle of the night, like if there was an emergency.

Hello, doubloonie. Yeah, especially don't always put it beside your chest or head. Leave the phone away from you even if you've turned it off. **Enjoy life~~**
