I know people who acquire everything! they have stuff everywhere and couldn't even begin to tell you what or where it is. Are you an accumulator? Or do you throw away the unneeded stuff?

I am 10000000% pack rat. I keep eeeeverything and then when I try to clean and organize my place I have no where to put anything because there is SO MUCH stuff...but I just can't bare to part with it. "I MIGHT NEED IT SOME DAY!!!" My mom is the same way. Oh the clutter!

I'm a pack rat. And I like being a pack rat, lol. I don't give up my stuff because it's mine, lol. I've given clothes away to the needy and I don't mind doing that. But I could never part with my old toys, blankets, and other stuff from my childhood. The memories I had with all of it means something to me on a huge level. Since I am an only child, that's all I had to keep me going every day.

it is so easy to accumulate stuff in this day and age - especially when 'keeping up with the jones' is so important to most everyone! every once in a while i go through our house and put stuff aside that i dont need and either keep it for a garage sale of give it away to charity.

Yes, I am a pack rat. My fiance's a packrat too, so oh so much fun it is to go through things and decide whether to throw them away or not. I don't like throwing away unneeded stuff under the precedence that it may be needed at a later date.

I know people like that too! It drives me crazy! My son's father is a packrat. Even when he is homeless he still rents 3 or more storage sheds to store all his junk. His car is so full that no one can ride in it with him. He even has some junk at my house!...and at his parents. He saves empty bottles, every little thing you can imagine. I had old worn out frying pans I put in the garbage. He took them and said he can use them for camping. He won't. He will never be able to find them in storage! I took videos of stuff I found in a box of his when his junk was in my house. I would be too embarrassed to even put them online for you to see them. Some of the stuff he saves in just unbelievable. It's like a sickness. Shortly after our son was born, there was a time when we didn't even have enough money between the two of us to buy a half gallon of milk. All the bills were past due. He got paid for a construction job and he bought a snow plow for the front of his truck for almost $1000.00! He thought he could use it to make more money over the winter. That was 14 years ago. I never even saw it. It went into his storage shed and he never used it. Nor did he ever sell it even later when he was being evicted from his apartment for not paying the rent! My mother is like that too. She has her 2 car garage full of junk she 'thinks' she can sell in a garage sale. There is no room to even walk in there. But she keeps buying more. I went there to borrow her hedge trimmers last month and I had to walk on top of garbage bags with clothes in them to get to the hedge trimmers. Ok, I guess I complained enough. Lol.
