I am expecting an email from someone and I do not know there email address. So I cannot add it to my address book to see that it comes to my inbox. I HATE my Spam box. I hate it so much that I don't go near that thing. It is trashy and the messages are not subjects that I want to see. I usually just delete them.
However, since I was expecting an email - and it is not in my inbox - I went to the dreaded dark and dreary land of SPAM box. I must admit, I was scared. I did not want to see those terrible ads for making things larger and "she is waiting for me".
Anyway, I had - and I kid you not! I had 532 emails that all appeared to be from "Winning Notice" with the subject "You're a Yahoo Winner"
How stupid do they think we are?!?!?
I just got out of there and deleted them all. I only hope that the email that I was waiting on was not hidden in there somewhere. If it was, it is long gone now. For the last month, some of this spam has been getting filtered into my inbox. I am seriously considering dropping Yahoo completely.
Do you get this kind of Spam and Trash in your yahoo box?

LOL Polly, I have missed you. LOL You are always so much fun. I get those emails too. Wonder if I should open one of them and see if they have a way to add one to my female body too. LOL

I get emails like that often too and there really annoying. I just ignore them all.

ya it is annoying. Like you open you mailbox and see an email that says you won something so you get excited just to find out its a scam.

I get it once in awhile. I only go to my bulk if I am like you and expect something special and it does not show up. I found that a few of my mylot messages went there. OOPs. I have started getting trash in my regular inbox lately, and I know it came from sites I visited, or from being on certain other sites. That was one reason I quit using Yuwie. I will just go into my Yahoo mail and re set my filters soon. I have my bulk set to automatically delete itself after a week. If you know the name that goes with the e mail you are waiting for, you could search your e mail for that name and find it, even in bulk, without having to visit the trash.

They sell our email addresses online for big bucks. Spam is big business. Can you imagine how much faster the internet would be if it were not clogged up with SPAM? LOL

I get that kind of crap all the time. I just swallow my annoyance, and plow through it. It's only shocking if you allow it to be shocking. All you need to do when you see something like that is say a little prayer thanking God that you are not like the people who end them, that you would not do tat to another person, and would He please help them see the error of their ways, and leae you alone.
The minute I let that stuf shock me, I am giving the SPAMMERS control, and I have way too much nerve to let that happen.

I do have lots of it even in my inbox but so far it stop already. I am pretty sure that they got tired of sending me those mails. Although Yahoo indeed has spam box there are ways these spammers do to be able to have it in your regular inbox. What they usually do is that they changed their email address so that it may not look like a spam. There are still many loopholes that yahoo has to configure in their system.

I just really hate to be exposed to that kind of stuff. Yahoo does seem to be letting much more of it into my inbox these days.

I haven't gotten any of the yahoo winning notifications in awhile but I did get them in the past. Now I keep getting those emails that want me to give them my bank account information so they can forward money to me or checks to me so I can cash them and then get screwed over. I got one the other day that claimed it was from the Queen of England. Seriously. Some people may be naive, but I'm not stupid.

They sure must think we are all stupid because they spend a lot of time sending out that trash. I can't imagine anyone falling for that stuff. I know they do though.

I get that a lot in my spam folder too I hate it i just go through the list and find the emails i want and then delete the rest.

I just dont have the time to go through all my spam so I usually stay out of that area. It is scary in there anyway. LOL

I really get a lot of spam in my Yahoo mail. The ones saying that they need my help and would like me to send money or something else have been slipping through. I mark them as spam so they will go directly to that folder. Who really wants to have a job in the field of forensics? Not me. Spam. I do not want a larger thingy nor am I looking for one that lasts longer. I do not believe that any goop you put on your face will turn back the hands of time, it will just empty your purse quicker. Nor do I believe that I am the winner of some lottery that I have never entered. Thank goodness for the spam button.

Hello friend! Yes, I get that garbage as well. I used to delete it without even checking out who all it was from. Then one day I realized that some of the mail routed there was not suppose to go there. So, now I have to scan through it and sort out what needs to be read. Today it happened to be a birthday card from a good friend. I think this happened since I deleted my friend's business email address and it redirected the card to the spam box.
It is a good thing that I checked my mail since I was very depressed and that card made me feel better.

Oh yea I got this same email today as a matter of fact. I get so sick and tired of getting these emails. I mark it is spam. I wish there was a way to stop getting them. I check it though becuase some of the emails from mylot end up in there. So I check it just to see if mylot or something else that is important went in there.

This is an interesting topic, villageanne, because I have also been wondering how all of the junk manages to make it into my inbox. I agree that the filters don't work very well at all! I was in the habit of not checking my spam box until I stopped receiving myLot notices awhile back and discovered they were going to my spam box.

These winning notifications are a constant on my email too. They usually gang up to loot the poor unsuspecting guy who falls for their tricks. I dont think yahoo is sending these messages. We have lot of instances here in my country where the culprits are m ostly Negros. They even have the nerve to come to our country to receive the money and then if the duped person gets wise on them, they are caught. It is best to delete them.

With all the modern technology, you would think they could catch those Spammers and give them a swift kick in the bottom. It just clogs up the internet

Oh my god,I get them kind of emails everyday on yahoo til I just don't bother going to my yahoo account anymore.After I complain to yahoo admin it seems that the scam emails just got worse,I get at least 10 a day now.Msn is good at stopping these kind of scam emails I report the emails and never hardly get any from my Msn email account.

Oh yes, I get a lot of emails like that both in my spam mails and my regular inbox. And most of them are the "Winning Notice" as you said.
I have gmail account also but atleast there i am not getting spam emails in my inbox. Little time back there were no spam mails also but now it has started and I am getting them on and off.
