do you think the movie Titanic trivialized the actual event?

The hollywood version of the event is ok (not all that correct in their details) but as a hollywood fluff story, it fits the bill. but do you think that this movie trivializes what actually happened on the ship? afterall, over 1,500 people lost their lives on that fateful night...thoughts?

Not at all! I do realize the love story and all that was made up, but the rest was rather true to the event. Someone of my generation had known very little about the actual event due to how long ago it was. Prior to the movie I had heard of the Titanic, and knew the basics, but seeing the story in that light gave me a lot more information that I had known, and I appreciated what those people must have really gone through.

Hi Sweet I loved the movie but realized that it was fiction! I think the scenes of the bodies in the water and how few got in the life boats made it pretty clear how severe the loss was. xoxoxoxoxoxo
