When you set a ring tone in your mobile, what do you prefer, a normal ring tone provided by mobile manufacturer or like to set some song as your ring tone. Similarly when some one calls our up, what do you like to make him hear, a normal answering tone or a film song.

For my call ring, I want a song for it. It's nicer I guess. But for a text message tone, I prefer the normal ring tone, I mean a tone from the manufacturer. hehehe.. I guess it's more like a cellphone if you hear something made up by a keyboard hehehe..

I used to have songs designated for different people but, when I got my latest phone, I decided that I was tired of hearing music and went back to just a regular ring tone.

I use a "midi" file as my ring tone. It is a music file that has no voice in it, just plain music. I get these by downloading from the internet or by copying files from my friends' cellphones. However, when it comes to "Message Alert Tone", I use normal tones, either provided or not by the mobile manufacturers, that are short and not loud. I am fond of using tones or sounds that can be found around us like the croak of a frog, a chirp of a bird or a metallic sound made by falling coins. These are what I like for my Message Tones "SMS". When someone calls me up, I would like that person to hear a normal answering tone. I don't want to use film song. I fear that others may not like to hear songs that I would set as a ringback tone, thus I just use a plain normal answering tone. I hope this might help you in setting your ringtones :)
