Christian are prohibited to worship the idol. There is a question here. God has sent someone over to save the WORLD, so called Jesus Christ . And Jesus Christ are now became the teacher and "GOD" for every christian. Well the question here is , Does the GOD created JESUS as an IDOL to Christian? It would just like other Buddhist etc which they critics alot about worshiping idol.

ovation4u or anybody else with all these questions, let me give you a challenge since you always have a come back when a Christian answer your questions. For 6mths I challenge you to read your bible everyday and ask God if he is real to show you these answers. If at the end of 6mths or less you don't have your questions answered, then I don't know what to say. Because to me if you really want to know something you wont believe till you see and find out for yourself. Nothing anybody says will convince you. So, I challenge you to find out for yourself. Have a very nice day!

Jesus prayed to God to give us an example of how to pray. What kind of a savior would he be if he didn't set a good example?

Yes, worshiping an idol is really prohibited to Christ's followers because it is a sin. Worshiping an idol is a violation of the first of the Ten Commandments. The only allowed idol to be worshiped is God himself. An idol is someone or anything that we really devote ourselves and worship. God is a jealous God and wants himself the only one to be worshiped which He deserves as our God. Without Him we won't be here on earth.

God Himself spoke that He is a jealous God. It is God who only deserves our worship. Imagine if you were God and you created the human beings. Now the human beings create things they call as God. Wouldn't you be insulted then. God created human and human created idols. And human call the idols their God. That's ridiculous.

Who compose the TEN Commandments? Why the God has to be jealous ? Doesn't he who made the deaf , the blind , the human?

Jesus isn't necessarily an idol for Christianity. Jesus is just Jesus, he is someone who saved him, and of course we should thank him, but no, he is not our idol.

but most of the christian critic about worshiping idol....would be a confusion?

Remember Jesus is fully human and fully God. Gospel according St. John clealy wrote this in the begining of his Gospel. "The word was with God and the Word was the God". And the Word became human and with full of grace and the truthness Lived among us.

Sometimes words in the bible are so sensitive against non-christian or islamic , such as SON of the GOD , the ONLY SON , I AM THE ROAD , I M THE LIGHT ......this is the reason why islamic and christian are having forever wars. Why we wanna be so sensitive for it? Why must have religion to? Why not pray the god as ONE?WHy must keep claiming that your god is so true while the other are false?

I look at Jesus this way. He was brought to this land to cleanse the sin of man. I do not go to church but was raised in a very religious family, and I have not been to a church that has a statue of Jesus and actually worships it. My family is mainly Catholics and I do not agree with praying to Saints and whatnot because I believe that God is creator of all and it even says in the Bible that He is everywhere therefore I do not need to pray to a Saint for him to hear me. I do not judge other religions and have a hard time with people that do, I do not have much knowledge of the Buddist religion and can't say it is bad or not. I personally believe that people that criticize should really look at themselves and make sure they are doing everything correctly before saying a word. Just for the record the Bible says that Christians should not worship false prophets and idols.

Good statement! Christian should not worship false prohets and idols. But how to justify whether is false or true. Doesnt it all made by men?

I think that you could determine a false prophet or idol but your beliefs and what you are taught. I think that a false idol is a little easier to define in the Christian religion because the Bible states that they are objects with a claim of a higher power. With a false prophet it isn't so easily defined. The Bible tells us (Christians) to look for people that are going against the Christian teachings, Jesus's teachings, and the word of God. I believe that most make their own interupertation of the Bible and that is why there is so many forms of Christianity.

Do you mean that any statement which reversed or unmatched with the holy bible consider false prophet and idol?

I have often wondered the same thing myself. Between the Bible and Jesus I hear very little about the actual God behind them. I have met a lot of good Christians and I have met a lot of hypocrites who could use some strong guidance from the good ones. I walked away from it many years ago and don't miss it, so many rules and punishments, too much for me.

There is a misconception amongst many that idol worship is false. Nothing can be farther from the truth.Yes blind worship of an idol without understanding its real meaning is false.God, actually has no form but man is unable to comprehend or understand a formless God, so he creates a particular form maybe as a painting or a sculpture and placing it in his temple starts worshipping it.By concentrating on that particular form his devotion increases and ultimately he transcends the form and sees God in the entire creation. Jesus came on this earth to show people the path of devotion and how to worship God. If you go to any church you will find the idol of Christ on a cross or an idol of Mother Mary with infant Jesus in her arms.Don`t Christians worship these idols by lighting candles?Even Buddhists worship the image of buddha with flowers, incense sticks and oil lamps.

I think rather than Jesus being an idol to human, he's more like a symbolic figure and a God in human form. People in centuries, have wanted messiah and God decided to make a human form of himself, therefore being his son, Jesus started preaching. Even Jesus himself never said he was God. He said he was son of God. Which means although he's divine in a way, like an angel, he's not fully God. All Christian's view differs on this. Jesus was merely God in visible form. To perform miracles and to strengthen our belief as well as saving as all. Christianity itself has been changed and evolved over the last millenium and some people do seem to think Jesus as an idol. Someone to worship. I'd just like to think that Jesus is confirmation of God's existence. Nothing more

Jesus is not an idol as budha. And i think the GOD you are referring who created Jesus is the God the Father. God the father did not created Jesus because Jesus Himself is a God. There is only One God but 3 persons in it. God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the Father of all creation including human being and angels. if you can remember, God the Father prohibit us to worship idols. that was in the 10 commandments.

If Jesus is not a God, then you must have missed John 1:1.. it says, "In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GOD..." and verse 12 says, "...and the WORD became FLESH (refers to Jesus), and dwelt amongst us." Jesus is the Word. The Word is God. Jesus is God! Simple Logic... God Bless You guys!

If Jesus isn't a God, then Hebrews 1:8 is wrong.. It says, "but to the Son(referring to Jesus), Your throne, oh GOD, endures forever. You rule with scepter and justice." You Can read your Bible guys! God Bless you!

Hi ovation4u, I had never thought of Jesus in this way. I believe most Christians think of an idol as a statue that one would worship. Very interesting. Blessings.

Jesus Christ is not a God, He is the Son of God and sits at God's right hand. Christians are prohibited from worshiping false idols, creating something, for instance a statue of a ram, and deciding to worship it. Jesus was sent to us as a man, not a God, however it is through Him that Christians gain entrance into heaven.
