I saw this picture yesterday and it reminded me how I felt at my last haircut. I had a great beautician in Phoenix that loved working with my hair but when I moved here I didn't know anyone and just went to Walmart--my other one was in Walmart, too. Well, I asked the girl to cut it short so it wouldn't be in my eyes or cling to my neck in the heat and when she got done I looked like a man! I was so embarrassed to leave the store, I looked awful. I have a cowlick and she'd paid that no heed, it stuck up in the air for weeks till it got a little length to it. It's grown out now and I think I'll just let it grow, it's almost to my shoulders.

LOL nice topic. I had my worst haircut for the first time when i was enlisted in the military. But for the first time i felt wind on head. It was cooling but seriously it was bad.

My worst was when I was about 18 years old. I went into a hair cutting place in a local mall and told them to just surprise me....boy, was that dumb or what? When they were done, I was surprised to say the least. I had a partial perm on the top of my head only.

Most of the stylists I've told to be creative did pretty well but some are just really bizarre. I've decided to let my hair grow long--can't do much wrong with that. I've seen men with perms and they look...strange. Hope you got through it ok!

I guess I had my worst one when I was high school. It was too short, not skin head though but it's like a boy cut hehehe.. Someone told me it's not cute for me so I never had a haircut like anymore. hehehe..

It's even worse when that happens in high school, when we so much want the approval of our friends. My sister went through that and even lost a boyfriend because of it. I remember the haircut looking great on her but she was in agony over it-it was in the 60's when long hair was popular and she just wanted a trim but the stylist went overboard.

My husband will tell you its when I sat in the chair all day with curlers in my hair. Its was so curly that you would have thought my hair would stand up forever. I had that curl for a year. Now I can get it cut short and no comment from my husband. I just remind him that the beauty parlor could make it stand up. I will never look like a man, as I'm "gifted". No amount of shirts will help. I don't know any men that are this gifted.

I, too, am gifted that way. But my sense of femininity really suffered with that haircut! You must have some natural wave or curl in your hair to have had the curls stay in so long.

Well, I've had so many bad haircuts and do's because my mom was a hairdresser and I was her only daughter and she was very very oldfashioned. It was pure hll every day in my home until I got old enough to rebel...about 15 maybe. Then I grew my hair for years fearful of the sissor people. I had waist length hair..,,and in my 20's I got courage and went in and got a trim and bangs. the lady did well and I should have gone back to her. I didn't. I was pregnant and it was hot and I was moody and I got it in my head that I needed a change NOW. I was having a really bad hair day. I went into this shop and told the lady that I wanted my hair layered up to give it body. I don't look in the mirror as they cut. this was equivent to going to the dentist for me. All done and said, she chopped my hair so so short that I looked like a boy. Come to find out...she was a friend of my mom's...go figure. Needless to say it took me years to step foot into one of those places again. Key is to take time to find someone you trust and stick with her.

What a horrible experience for you! I've always wanted hair that long, I don't know why because it'd take a lot of care and I'm too impatient to do that. But I think it makes women look beautiful when they let their hair grow long like that. Maybe I'll let mine grow this time and not cut it.

My worst haircut is on my head right now! I don't know how the hairdresser got a certificate...My hair is extremely short at the back, buzzcut style and the front consists of a long sleek fringe...disgusting!!! And the level of the hair around my head is pretty much even, therefore resulting in a bowl-cut appearance

That kind of cut is coming back in style judging from the women I see when I go out. At least it'll grow quickly and you can get a different cut!

well, my worst hair cut is when i am still a little girl and there is this demi moore fever going on because of the movie ghost that she plays with patrick swayze... so a lot of girls in my country cut their hair to follow her style... well, i don't like it and my mum force me to have it... it ended up really bad because it just doesn't suit my face texture... and i don't like short hair... so i cry for days... from there, i never let anybody cut my hair short anymore... take care and have a nice day...

I hated that my mom and dad could tell me how to wear my hair when I was little. They stopped when I was about 10, thank goodness. As long as I kept it clean and neat, it was okay with them. They had such bizarre ideas of what looked good on me! You keep your hair as you like it, no matter what anyone says. If they love you, they'll love your hair.

I haven't really had an awfully bad haircut since I was a kid and had to get the haircut my dad wanted for me. However, I've had some pretty awful examples of hair that needs cutting.

Back in the 70's when I was a teenager, there were a lot of guys with long hair. I think long hair on guys is sexy but not when they don't take care of it! Guys back then didn't keep their hair nice and didn't wash it nearly enough. It was a big turn-off to me to see young men with greasy long hair and I turned down quite a few dates because of it.

Yes, it has been many years back buy my beartician was a talker, imagine that? LOL She was talking and not listening to me at all. She got my hair so short that I wanted to wear a hat al the time. I was so embarrassed to even let my hair be seen. She was also a good friend of mine but needless to say I didn't let her cut my hair any more. I, too, have a cowlick and if you aren't careful it will just stick up like a sore thumb. God bless you!

Seems like most of the bad haircuts happen when we go too short. But long hair is so hot in the summer! I enjoy it in the winter, though. If I can get through this summer without cutting it I'll be fine. I love long hair because they have such pretty things to put in it and I love sparkly stuff!

Walmart cuts hair? The worse one i've ever gotten was one I gave to myself lol I was around 12-13yr old i think and i wanted my hair shorter but my mom said no. So i did it myself i messed it up a little and then i just decided to shave my head.. my mom was not happy about that but I loved it lol especially when it grew out long enough to spike.

That's a cool story! I've often wished baldness for females would get popular. Think how fun it would be to have a bare head and be able to decorate it with temporary tattoos or washable paint! I've always wanted to do that.

A couple years back I was using clippers to cut my hair. I used the guide so as not to cut too short. Well as i was trimming, a then noticable widows peak, the guide flicked off the clippers and i ended up getting what appeared to be the beginning of a reverse mohawk. It was horrible. I ended up shaving all my hair off. I no longer trim with clippers, although it was accidental. Now my hair is down the center of my back. ;)

I find long hair attractive on men as long as it's clean and well-kept. What I can't stand is a man that denies his age and tries the "comb-over" even with long hair, it looks so silly. Not only that, it telegraphs that the man thinks physical looks is more important than his personality. I spent my teen years in the late 60's and early 70's and I still don't trust a man in a suit with short hair!

Haha-the worst haircut I ever had was the one I gave myself when I was about six; I cut off a chunk of my bangs with a pair of child's scissors! Namaste, Becky

Oh, I did that, too!! I wanted to look like my friend's Barbie doll--a beautiful, perfect thing. I though if I cut my hair as short as hers I would be pretty--I was a fat and ugly child. Well, it certainly didn't improve things!! But my mom trimmed me up and her mother, when I visited, taught me how physical looks were unimportant although it was an ongoing thing with her--she didn't say it so much as teach it by example. Kids are so funny, especially when they are us!

I have wavy hair, too, that's why my former stylist liked my hair so much and did such a good job. I also had a perm like you did about twenty years ago and yes, I looked like a poodle! But wasn't it really easy to care for? I loved mine.

I got one like that around that age, too, it was called a Pixie Cut. I looked awful and the woman snipped my ear with the scissors, that was bad. I'm glad you like your hair now!
