I collect lots of things. My main thing is fountain pens and fountain pen ink. I do not like writing with ordinary pens (ballpoint or ink gels, etc.). There is something about fountain pens that is different. This is especially true because I am left handed but I write with an underhand grip, so I do not smear the fountain pen ink. There is something magical to me to see old time writing done with a quill or fountain pen, like the Declaration of Independence for instance (United States). Old fashioned penmanship is not see today. People do not take the time to write as beautifully as they did in the past. In my genealogy hobby, I have studied some 100 year old census material and some of the penmanship was just beautiful. I love writing with different colors. A lot of pens nowadays only write blue or black colors. I like bright colors -- pinks, purples, turquoise, etc. I think it is part of the want-to-be artist in my but I have no talent to draw. I do also like collecting stamps from all parts of the world, postcards, old coins, and anything related to cats!

We have a common story about our pens its beautiful.I see that the behavior is almost the same about sentimental things. About your cosines, maybe when the will grow up they'll understand the meaning about sentimental connections in family.Have a nice day and thanks very much for sharing.

I received my first fountain pen from my father who received it from his mother. I do not use it as it has very sentimental meaning for me. I can just imagine how many letters back to the old country (Italy) that grandma wrote with that fountain pen. I wish I had the letters too! I love keeping the history of my ancestors alive. You are lucky to have children to pass your pens down to. I do not have children, unfortunately, but I have neices and a nephew. So far, they are not interested in the pens but may be some day in the future they will be, hopefully.

Well, I'm a woman but I guess I'm not like other women who do collect pairs of shoes and bags. I do have several of those but I just don't keep them for myself. Most often, I would give or transfer these properties and belongings to my younger relatives and in-laws whom I know will benefit from using it. I believe this is better than discarding or throwing them all away. I prefer collecting old coins and stamps, too. Unfortunately, I have somehow forgotten them mainly because I only rely on the coins and stamps which my relatives from other countries give me. At present, writing letters or snail mails isn't being practiced so much anymore because e-mails and text messages are faster, cheaper, and more dependable means of communications with loved ones from far away. Aside from this, I have several cups and mugs which were given by friends or officemates. I'm not really fond of them but because they were given to me, I treasure them. But I've got to admit that I'm definitely fond of small and minute items like small decorated tin cans, scented shaped candles (fruits, flowers, veggies), traditional camera film canisters, bottles of perfumes, and jewelries. However, I intend to give all of my jewelries to our daughter when I get old, say when I'm about 50. I even have a lot of used call and text cards from Smart, Sun and Globe, numbering to about eighty pieces. You might find this funny and illogical but at the back of my mind, I'd like to think that they will be pretty valuable after about twenty or thirty years. I guess the weirdest collection that I've got is the little round pellets which I get from cleaning our staple of rice. Even my husband finds it weird and sometimes, he even laughs at it. But still, I've got other things which I'd want to collect like feng shui items, dolls and stuffed toys, Nintendo game and watch and cartridges. Unluckily, I don't have excess funds to buy these at the moment.

I have many collections. I collect cross stitch patterns, kits, fabric and threads. I collect beads and buttons. Books. And all manner of stationary supplies. Then there are the candles and soaps. Oh, and the sheets and towels. Um, what else? I suppose you could say I have the most unique collection of all, my children. And just to top it off, you could say I have my very own collection of collections.

I have two collections. The first one is a collection of Mary Moo-Moos. They are small cow figurines in all sort of designs by Ensco and I love them. My second one is snowmen! I absolutely can't go a year without buying new ones. I bet that I have over 500 if you count everything that I have collected. I actually had enough snowmen ornaments to do my tree in snowmen this year. However, my family is sick of them and won't let me leave them out year round like I would like too.

Hello ! i have this wierd passion of collecting coins. They are not ancient ones or different curriencies. Its sort of passion, what ever coins i get which we use in our daily life, for instance, if i get few lying on desk, when i get from shop, from pocket of my husband, from my own purse, i put them in one box ok. By now i don't know how much money is collected, no space in that box , but still i dump, even if its one rupee or fifty paisa, or twenty paisa. LOL! Happy Mylotting!

Before, I do have collections of stamps but it is just there on my cabinet. No new addition. Collections of ball pens I have but only few pens. When you grow older seems your liking for things like that lessen. Later some of the things you collect will be garbage later on. But my stamps collection still in place and some pens and ball pens just there.

I have a rather large collection of 1 cent coins. I have about 1300 of them but the collection has kind of stopped growing since 1 cent coins are no longer in circulation. Something about it costing more to make them than they are worth. So I've recently started a different collection of small change. Anything under 50 cent coins, so it's 5, 10 and 20 cent coins now. I wonder how many I can get...

I tend to collect glassware and mugs, mainly shot glasses, from wherever I go. I also collect Disney memorabilia and small pieces of Fenton art glass. Right now, these collections are small due to money and space constraints, but I can see myself expanding them in the future.

Actually, I want to have a collection of games, but inspire of that I don't consider it as a famous loyalty of well being of people. And then I thought that I should spend this money on poor people. And this is my real collection

I have a collection of hippos that I started in 1973 when I was in college and have added to it ever since. I have many different kinds ranging from salt and pepper shakers, a mobile, many ceramics, banks, stuffed animals, a child's plush chair, a wooden one made in Africa and even one that makes noises and moves its head. I have jewelry and pictures and candle holders and even belong to a yahoo group whose members also love hippos!! I also have a collection of hat boxes and heart and oval shaped boxes, some stamps that are very unorganized, unusual coins (but very few) and postcards.

I used to collect Cherished Teddies. Those are little knick knacks in the form of teddy bears and they each have a story to tell. Now the only thing I collect are cross stitch patterns, now only find the time to actually make them LOL
