Have you heard about this? I was surfing on the internet and finally came across to this question: "Do you approve of the government's P500.00 subsidy fo the poor?" I was really surprised with all the answers of all our kababayan but it is really good to know what is in the heart of being a Filipino... How about you who have never heard about it. What do you think?

i think it is not right because for me, instead of giving that subsidy... i think that the government should develop a program for long term benefit... because giving 500 as subsidy is just a short term ease of burden that does not help most on its real problem. it is for the electricity subsidy, but the goverment is not sure if after they released the money the people will really use it for their bills. thus, they can't individually tract those who benefited from that. Therefore, for me, i think the government should develop a long term benefit to ease the burden of high cost of electricity here in our country.

There is a saying "Give man a fish and he will eat for a day. But teach man how to fish he will eat for a life time." Thanks for your sharing!

For those hungry people out there in our country of course they grabbed it.They say better than nothing. But generally this is useless. The govt should think something they can help the poor to get out from poverty like giving them a job and no age or personality discrimination.

Hell no!. It was dumb move at all. What our government doing right now is they feed the food directly to the mouth of the people. It's a short-term solution for a long-time problem that poor people are experiencing everyday. What comes next after this? another day of hunger?

I haven't heard about this. Since you wrote it here, now I know. This is another stupid decision from the government. The government is just favoring the laziness of the poor. One of the reasons why they are poor because they think they are poor, so they don't want to move. They said they have no education at all but the government has many educational projects. The problem with the so called "poor" is basically because they just want to be spoon-fed. They want the government to lay down all their needs in front of them. I know personally several poor people who have strived and they are well-off now. Its because they don't stop. Giving a sudsidy will just make them lame. Its a pity why do the government has to give them a subsidy. There is nothing wrong giving them some help. It is a very good thing to do to help...but not giving money. Teach these people to work. Teach them ways to earn. Teach them to be creative. From their work help them find people who will buy their work. Market their products. Help them to grow and be productive. Help them to stand on their own feet. Help them to use their own hands. These are the ways I think the better way to help the poor. Take care =)
