apple tree

does anyone know where i could buy a real apple tree, not a man made one IE: not one with another tree`s branch stuck on to it to create the perfect apple. I'm wanting to plant a real tree in my garden that will produce seeds that will grow into a tree that can produce eating apples( all the one`s in garden centre`s are not natural) i`ve looked on net but cant seem to find a good old fashioned apple tree. i would be very grateful for any info. :)

I happen to have one of those grafted trees in my garden and in all honesty it does not produce the perfect apple, not by a long shot. They do taste great, but look awful, and I very rearly get any sort of a decent crop. Even today I have noticed that many of the small apples have been blown off the tree.

My advice is find a hardy native varity and try that.

Search hard for it and it will be worth it. Try your nearest local orchard and ask the head gardener for advice. It's worth a try

If you are talking about planting an apple tree from seeds, then you should check out this article. It seems like a very long and not always successful process.
