God gone on vaccation.

There are times when the going goes rough and i am scared. I pray to God for help and guidance, but there is no reply. My problems also dont go away and I keep hoping God is listening to me and that things will improve. This went on for years and finally I decided that God has gone on vaccation, leaving us poor mortals at no ones mercy. Have you ever felt this way.

There is a saying "sometimes God calms the storm- and sometimes he calms our hearts and lets the storm rage" He watches us from the shore and comes to us in the hour of our need!

Hmmmmm, well....this is a tough one...ok, lemme try..I admit I wondered if God exists, and I did a lot of soul-searching. I do believe She exists, but I don't know why. :) At the same time, I am 100 percent sure She doesn't exist the way it is preached by religion. If you expect God to descend and sit near you and hold your hand and solve your problems, I am afraid you will be disappointed. Nothing like that will happen. So then, what or who is God? I am sorry I can't answer that question. Because you have to find your answer yourself. I can only tell you what I feel about it. I am half-Hindu. I believe that what we call human doesn't really exist (maya concept of Hinduism). But God exists. Your human body will collapse and die one day. But the essence of you (your soul - God) is eternal. Tough? Yeeeeeeah, I agree it is a tough concept to grasp. It boils down to this. Don't look for your God in the skies or in the pages of a Holy Book. Look deep within. The strength and power and joy you feel is God. The deepest inspiration that springs from within is God at work. Ever had solutions to problems come to you in a flash? That is God. So, if you feel God has gone on vacation, it might just be the other way round. It is you who has gone on vacation, or rather, you are out of touch with your real self or God. Cheers and happy mylotting

First of all I am amazed at the thought of God as she. I know of Hindu goddesses but those are incarnations of the Supreme Self which upto now was a He to me. I am glad somebody thinks of Him as Her. Yes, I too believe in soul searching and looking deep within, for I am a very big disciple of Ramana Maharishi who taught the 'Who Am I' theory. Easier said than done. When the going goes tough, you try to find answers, look for help within etc. Believe me, I tried, but I know it is not as simple as it sounds. It is more for the powerful souls, and not for us mortals who are all the time engrossed in wordly things. I pray and hope the God, wherever He is hears me and helps me solve my problems. Well I will go on praying and hopeing some flash of inspitation will come to help. I am not one of those who wait for things to happen in the name of God. I push forward, yet when the problems dont go away, I feel miserable. Anyway part of the karma theory. What say ? Good luck and thanks.

hi kethy! i've never thought that God takes a vacation. i may have thought that He's busy some place else helping some people, but i've never really thought that He might be in a vacation. ^__^;; there's too many people needing His help so i think He can't afford to be gone for a long time because His work would pile up. not that He treats helping people as work. but whenever i pray for something to Him and there's no answer for a long long time, actually there's one thing i've been asking for Him but after a couple of years, He still has yet to answer, i am inclined to think that what i am praying for is not meant for me or maybe its not yet time for me to have it.

I know you are right. When we are not destined for something, we dont get it, period. Even then, we keep hoping he will have pity on us, but then he is God and knows what is best for us. As for work piling up, Im sure he has angles to whome he can depute some work and relax. lol. Thanks and happy mylotting.

I too pray yet, and still ask for help. Maybe there is hope in my heart that one day He will listen to me. May all your problems be solved. Amen.

as I have said in another discussion, I am having a hard time right now too. Maybe God goes on vacation too but you know what, He doesn't leave us alone. He always leaves a caretaker, just look around you. There are people out there willing to give a hand, a smile, an advice, anything. God did not make us to be dependent to him, he made us all so we can help each other (and ourselves).

Oh sure, there are people who offer advice, a smile, but that does not solve my problems. I am not just depending on Him, I am doing my best to solve them myself, but a little help from Him wont go amiss. Maybe he is testing my faith or patience in Him. Well, hope all your hard times too disappear and that we end up thanking Him for His kindness.

I had a hard time last year. And now i lead a new life. When i face the difficulties, i always said to myself "tommorow is another day". i endeavor to change my bad situation these days, and i made it. Sure, we pray for better life. While we pray, we can use our power to change it. It seems useless when we just do nothing but pray and wait for changes. May that is why God gone on vacation. And God always give us things right. May the way he give you whatever you pray for is diffrent from the way you expect! God be with you forever! Good luck to you!

Dear Grace, I have forght tooth and nail to solve my problems. I pray for His help and guidance. I feel it is not coming, but maybe I am looking elsewhere. Yes, maybe He has more important things to do and I have to wait for my turn. Thanks for your wonderful advice. I suppose God works through your advice.

Hi kety, I believe we all have felt that way at times in our lives. We pray and there seems to be no answer from God. But God does hear our prayers and He does answer them...in His Own time and in His Own way. We have to have faith that God is always in control. He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He will not abandon us as orphans. God cannot lie and He keeps all of His promises. Just keep praying and ask God what He wants you to learn from your circumstances. Ask for strength and He will grant it to you. Just trust Him. He will never let you down! God bless!

Yes, I learnt a lesson from one of my friends that I leave my problem in His hands and then take it back from Him. Maybe I am doing just that. I will do as you ask and keep praying. I know He will not let me down, even though I sometimes feel lost. Thank you for a wonderful soul seraching reply.

Here's a quote for you: 'In God's silence, He is never still.' Sometimes it's hard to believe that He can see what's happening to every one everywhere, but there you go. He may be off doing some other things but He KNOWS. God is supposed to be all-knowing, so don't worry about it so much when you think He's gone on a vacation. Believe in Him.

Yes, maybe its not my turn to be helped yet. Maybe I am being impatient, but things will work out. Maybe He is doing things which are more important than my problems. I understand He has a lot to do, but then I am only mortal. Thank you for all the help and understanding.

God is not on vacation in fact he never sleeps, he is always keeping watch over us. Sometime when we think that God hasn't answered our prayer, it's not that he hasn't answered it , it's just that we either don't like the answer or aren't listening to the answer. But the answer is there, and yes thimes get very hard. Just yesterday my 38 year old daughter-in-law collapsed and had a seizure, it turned out to be a brain tumor and there is bleeding from the fall and she lost a lot of her memory. But she is in God's hands and with his grace she will make a complete recovery.

Maybe the answer is in my face and I am looking elsewhere, as you have rightly said. Maybe I should learn to understand His answer. I am really sorry about your daughter in law. I hope she has a sppedy recovery and you and your family will be in my prayers.

God never gives anyone something they can't handle. Doesn't always mean it is easy. If you believe in God then you probably believe in the devil he is out there too, trying to cause trouble. He doesn't need to attack the non-believers he already has them. God doesn't go on vacation, we are human and good and bad things happen. God will always help you through.

I am not one of those who will do nothing and hope God helps. I fight tooth and nail to solve problems and yet when there is no result, I feel miserable. I look forward to His help. Maybe He is showing me an answer which I dont want or am looking elsewhere. All of you have helped me a lot in understanding His ways and i thank you from the bottom of my heart.

God never gone on vacation and He always listens to the cry of His children... His answer to our prayers can be classified into three... the first one is yes... the second one is no... and the third one is WAIT... sometimes we just get so impatient and want God to answer our prayers straight away... God is our Heavenly Father and He knows what is best for His children... so He will answer our prayerd according to His time and His will... take care and have a nice day...

god never said that he would take your problems away. but that he would take you through them. Have you heard the poem the foot prints. A man was seeing 2 sets of foot print in the sand then he saw only one set and he ask God where he was at those time. God said that he was carrying the man, We need to ask God to help us through the tough times and he will. We grow during the tough times.

Yes, He has to help me, hold my hand and help me cross the fires of problems raging in my heart. I know He is there and that He will help in His own good time, but I am feeling lost. Maybe I have to bear the sins of my past birth in this and He is helping me to burn them. Thank you for your lovely reply.

Dear friend, Most of days I do thank God for given this much, still at times I do get depressed by not getting things right. Still I do have those facilities like electricity, better dress so on and may be these are basic needs of humans other than air, water etc. Still at times I stick to my luxurious needs which make me happier and more energetic. When comparing with those who do not have any as I do feel more thankful to God for giving this much for me, still the advancement and lifestyle enhancements makes one to go further with those advanced materials that reflects the social changes and lifestyles. May be the urge of humans to go further, which makes path for better inventions and better finds for social advancements may be a better lifestyle. I hope better human’s needs should remain unsatisfied which gives path for better advancement or may be better inventions for the enhancement of society.

god can go nowhere, since he/she is everywhere. i believe god has created a fair system in this universe, and he/she also has given us all tools we need (our hands, our feet, our body, our mind, our soul, just name it) to live our life. it depends on us how to utilize this in our life. so i think we harvest every thing we experience in our life as consequences of how we manage our life.

Oh yes, I agree God is everywhere, and that my tools are being put to good use. I do everything I can to solve a problem, and I also hope He will help me too. I dont wait for Him to help and do nothing about it. Maybe He is trying my patience and faith. I'll pass muster with the help of my friends of mylot.

Yes sometimes I feel that God doesn't listen and not around me when I need him. But there are times when we said that we are leaving something in his hand and go right back and take it out. The experiences that I have gain with God is that he is slow but sure. He is always there but we are the ones that are impatient. So we should always practice Patience whenever we are seeking help from God.

Yes, I guess I am impatient and want answers. Actually you are absolutely right. We leave it in His hands and then take it back from Him. This idea never crossed my mind. Thanks a million. I will learn to smile again. I shall leave all my problems in His capable hands and never take it back from Him. Let His will be done. Amen.A million thanks for an eye opening thought.

First it's wonderful that as a christian you are so honest with your feelings. I went through a period where God didn't answer my prayer about a certain thing however I've also realized that God's promises are true. He may not always be early, but he's never late, he's always right on time. As humans we are impatient and I speak from experience on this one. We want things done immediately but God is very patient and although he wants and will bring about change he sometimes waits. He knows the right time to bring our answers and it may not be quick but his timing is perfect. Hang in there and remember that his love is unconditional and he is so faithful. He may not answer immediately but it's in those times of waiting that he comes along side us and leads us softly and quietly by our hands. God bless :)

Dear bubbles, than you for a lovely answer. Firstly I am a Parsi Zoroastrian by birth and not a Christian. However it makes no difference to me for I believe all religons lead to the same goal. I am a firm beliver in good in all religions. Yes maybe you are right. I feel He is testing my patience and faith in Him and I know sometime my problems will be solved. As the saying, All in good time, but then yes, I am impatient. It is hard to stay patient and wait for things to happen, but you are right. He will hold my hand and guide me throug in His own time. Thank you for a wonderful reply. It has made my faith firmer in His wisdom.
