there r 3 states of matter solid liquid and gas ,then what is the state of fire

I was explaining to my 5 year old son that every matter can be in 3 state solid liquid or gas .then he asked what is the state of fire ? I was a bit confused when he asked this question ... i told him it it in gaseous state .....did i tell him the write answer ?

No, fire is not a state of matter. Fire is energy released by the rapid oxidisation of matter. In actual fact there are more than 3 states of matter, Plasma being a state beyond gas. all the best urban
