Are you a creature of habit?

I think we all have certain routines we get use to. Have you ever been out during the day doing something like playing, hiking, working in the yard and had to clean up before you went to bed? Did you find yourself doing the same things as if you were getting ready to go to work? I did, I took a shower, fixed my hair and put on de-stink stuff, but where was I going? I'm a creature of habit. Are you like this? Please tell me I'm not alone.

I think many of us are like this. Years ago I lost track of my days. I got up early every morning and did my routine and headed to work. One day I got there, usual time, only to find the doors locked and the parking lot empty! I sat there for about 30 minutes not understanding why no one was showing up. Finally I drove home, only to find my husband there asking me why I was going to work on a Sunday morning! LOL Then there was the time period that I car pooled with my hubby to work for awhile. But one day I drove to work while he was out of town. I went out to get my ride home, but he wasn't there. I sat and waited and waited. Finally a coworker came by and said hey - isn't that your car parked outside? :P Did I mention I'm a blonde??? And the last one is so stupid I don't even have the guts to list it. LMAO

Welcome to myLot. Forgeting you drove to work is about as bad as forgeting where you parked, even when you have an asigned parking spot.

I'm a bigtime creature of habit. I do sometimes find myself doing things I don't need to do, but do out of habit. I hate any change to my routine. I don't like surprises. I just don't like change...lol. A perfect day for me is one that goes just as planned.

Me too. I need control no matter how silly it seems to somebody else.

I'm very much a creature of habit. I do everything in the same order in the morning after I get up, and when I turn my computer on, I even check things in the same order. I really don't like change at all, and it makes me feel a bit panicky. If we book a holiday a couple of months ahead, I worry about all the things that might go wrong - and have to be at the airport three hours early just in case! I definitely have to make sure all the washing up is done before going to bed, too - I could never leave dirty dishes until the morning!

I'm a creature of habit in that I'm always picking up other peoples' garbage. I walk to the store from the parking lot, I'm picking up garbage along the way to deposit in the garbage container in front of the store. I walk my dog, again, picking up garbage along the way. I do this so often it's 2nd nature for me. My way of do my lil part in having a cleaner environment.

I guess this sounds rather prudish, but I like to clean up even if I don't have to go to work. My hair doesn't need much fixing, as I pretty much just give it a shake, but I like to keep it washed more or less regularly. Me, too. Hubby is more a habit kind of person than I am. I like to shake it up a little. We thought when we retired that maybe we would wake up early and thing we had to get ready for work or wake up late and be startled as in "Oh, no, we are late!" but that didn't happen. Whee, we are free!

Hi gitfiddleplayer, I can assure you that you are not alone. I think most of us are creatures of habit, I know I am. Blessings.

Hi I suppose in many ways I am, I have my normal routine in the mornings every day of the week rather than just work days but other than that I go with the flow so don't have too many other routines. I don't do the weekly wash on a particular day or the housework or anything like that, it is when I feel like it or the weather is good for drying that type of thing. Ellie :D

Many, many times I have set off in the car to go somewhere, and found myself half way to the office before I come to my senses and realise I had a different destination in mine completely.

Yes every morning I do the same routine even if not my work day because I just know that certain things need doing so I do them and then later I think ''when did I do that?'' lol

I can assure you are not alone. I'm also with you in this thing of being habituated of doing the same things. This is a common habit in most of the people that they get up early, brush their teeth, do some exercise, take shower, have breakfast and go to work or college. I do all these things as a daily routine and some days I don't even realise that its Sunday and I can take rest for that day. This is a very common scene can be seen in most of the people's life. I once again assure you are not alone. Have a nice day !

Oh yes, I am a creature of habit - but I think most of us are, if we would admit it! I do the same things every day, in the same routine, whether I am going out, or not!
