What to do with plain lettuce?

We've ran out of salad stuff... no tomatoes, no cucumbers, just dressing left and croutons. Does anyone have any ideas how we can eat it now, besides putting it on a sandwich? My boyfriend said we could just have plain lettuce salad with the dressing and croutons we have left, but that sounds boring to me. Any ideas?

If you dont have anything in the house you should try what your boyfriend said.I cant think any salad that you can make only using lettuce.hahaha sorry, i tried my best..Joke if you got carrot that would help also to boost the taste, put a little bit sugar, black pepper,a little bit vinegar.Goodluck.. Greetings from Che!

LOL I can't think of anything else besides plain lettuce salad either. Some others suggested wraps, which I might try. Thanks for writing!

Put lettuce, cheese and sausage on a soft shelled taco and microwave it. Add dressing or any other condiments you have lying around to it. That sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

Lettuce is good alone too. but sometimes if I don't have other fresh veggies to put with it i will put some rice and other canned veggies that are still crisp, like chickpeas(garbanzo beans) black beans, or any bean (after rinsing) and or corn. This I like to do with a bit of chicken too.

I love plain lettuce sometimes. You can make wilted lettuce if you have and bacon, bacon grease and white vinegar. If you have any beef, you can make a hamburger salad with it. You could aslo add some salsa to it also and dip it onto chips and eat it like that also. If you do have some bacon, you could have bacon and lettuce sandwiches.

OMG! We used to make what my grandmother called "hot lettuce". I LOVED that stuff! I didn't know it was also called wilted lettuce. YUMMY! I loved that as a kid. I wonder if we have any bacon in the fridge. Thank you!!

Throw it outside for the rabbits. Just kidding. What about eating tuna salad or chicken salad on it? Or grilled chicken. A wrap is a good way to mix it up.

Thankfully we have salad supplies again, but yesterday we did put tuna on a salad and had it like that. It was okay. I kinda didn't like the tuna that SO made though, it was too runny.

I'll sometimes do lettuce wraps instead of making a salad. I also like just plain lettuce with dressing, but I can see how that might be considered 'boring'.

That's a good idea. I could try that until we get some other veggies. Thanks!

Incorporate the lettuce into some sort of dinner thing, something creative. I have heard that some people have started using pieces of lettuce instead of shells when they eat tacos, and that seems like an interesting and healthier idea. You could use them to wrap just about anything with that would normally use a bread, as long as it would taste alright with it. You could also use pieces to set other foods on, like finger food.

That actually sounds good! I like doing that with just cucumbers and onions. Never thought about that with lettuce. I think I will try it tonight with our dinner. Thanks for the reminder!
