My earnings were down yesterday. I didn't tag!

I've always thought that it didn't matter if we tagged or not. So, yesterday, I didn't tag anything cause it takes so long. And I was down two dollars in earnings from the day before. So, maybe tagging does help. I don't know. Maybe the drop in earnings was due to something else. I can't be sure. Does anyone know if tagging affects earnings?

I'm still testing. Some days I tag and it goes up and other days I don't tag and it goes up anyway. Like yesterday. Now I'm confused. I did resolve more discussions yesterday. And earnings were better. I'm not speculating just letting you know what I did different.

Somewhere there is a mathmatical person laughing his butt off at people trying to figure out how these things work. LOL

I think it does because I have also no been tagging lately and my earnings have been lowering, so I always tag every discussion now so that I get the maximum amount of money of every post that I make, it doesn't take that long, it just takes time till the page loads

Hello dear beauty queen. I am not so sure about it, but I think that it is not a big deal whether we tag or not when we respond to discussions. I always tag my new discussions the first time it is posted, but not later on. Sometimes I tag a discussion I respond to, but not always. As to the your earnings going down, I think that it could be the deletion of some of discussions or the responses. I used to have this case happen to me, but that was long time ago.

Thank you for your comments, WilliamJiSir. It is nice to talk with you again. Yes, most likely it is due to something simple. I did not put in as much effort today or yesterday as the previous week, so maybe I did not do enough to earn the money that I wanted. Or, perhaps it was a deletion. That is possible. Thank you for your comments. Be well. My best to you and your fellow country men and women who suffered during the recent tragedies.

I don't know why your earnings went down. But excuse my ignorance, but what is tagging? Sorry I am pretty new to mylot and trying to figure everything here out. Thanks again!

There is a box at the bottom of your post that says "tag this discussion", or "tag this post" or "add tags". You type in a word or phrase that you feel relates to what you have posted, it is a way for myLot to sort discussions, and for things to be searched for.

I'm so afraid to lose earnings or star level, so I do all that I can to keep it. I tag everything, even if it's only one word. I was hoping that I'll get like $3 in one day, but no such luck. Not even sure if $3 in one day is even possible. Check your discussions and see if you notice any missing. But, also tag as much as possible. Sorry about your earnings.

It's OK! I don't think they deducted or confiscated any of my previous earnings. But my daily total that I earned was way less than I expected. I mean the amount that I thought I would earn for the responses posted. Maybe I just didn't post the total number of responses that I should have. Lots of stress lately. Today I'm feeling so much more stress free. Long story, I'll post it later! I didn't post any original discussions yesterday. I usually post three or four discussions, so maybe that made me earn less for that day. Thanks for your concerns and your tips. I do always enjoy your posts. You come up with some amazing topics! Be well! Best of luck on MyLot.

I'm thinking the same thing. Lately I had noticed that my earnings didn't seem to go up on days that I started discussions, so I slacked off and just didn't start any for the day mentioned. And on that day, my earnings were not so high. I didn't lose any previous day earnings. But I just didn't get so much. I'm not speculating about how earnings are calculated. Just wondering why it was not what I thought it would be.

I guess the factor that you haven't started new discussions is to blame for your low earnings. I strongly believe that if you have more new discussions that would generate lots of responses. I don't know if tagging helps earnings. But I know tagging helps your readers find your discussions more easily.

I think tagging doesn't affect the earning. With my experience,i don't tag sometimes the earning will not down, only if my replies with no quality or too short,my earning once downed. It must be that my replies has been deleted. Myloy has not noticed that what we should do,what we can't do definitely. So we had better do our best to obey the rough rules instead of guess. So.tag or don't tag,i will choose "tag".

I don't know if there is a link for sure. But I was thinking that maybe the reason I didn't get so much per discussion was over a lack of tags. It could have been a slow profit day for MyLot and that would mean less profit for members. That could be the case. I'm tagging from now on just to be sure.

The only time I ever tag is when I start a discussion. I don't tag responses, and I don't have this problem. Did a ouple of discussions get deleted? I sometimes hae bad days where I respond o a lot of discussions hat end up getting deleted, and my earnings go down because of that.

It's possible that happened. I keep track from day to day of total responses that I have posted. I will double check. Thanks!

Well I dont know if tagging does help your earnings or not I am a bit confused by this because ive heard several people say that tagging does help your earnings but from others ive heard that it dosnt. It could depend on your qualty of post if you made a lot of post yesterday that were 4 to 5 sentences and only made post today that were 2 to 3 then it would go down.

I've noticed that I make more when I tag then when I don't, a lot more. I can write less but tag and make more then if I responded to more discussions but didn't tag.

If tagging will reduce my earnings, then my earnings will always reduce. I dont put in tags anymore in my comments/discussions as I want to finish as many as I can. But if that is the cause Ill start tagging again.

I have no idea, but the past two days that I have been posting, I have not tagged anything but my own discussions. I don't generally tag other ones. I made $0.74 one day and $0.88 the other. I don't know if I'd have made more if I would've tagged but even a couple years ago when I was on here with a diff username, I almost never tagged unless I came up with one or two that I really thought were appropriate and not already there. I made enough then to be paid by them three times, and almost a fourth. So I can't really answer your question but I can say that I never really have and I still earn alright.

i don't know if tagging really has an effect on our earning but there was a time when i was s o lazy adding tag so i just skipped it always then when i saw my earnings it was low as to what i am expecting..then when i started adding tags again my earnings return from its normal range..but i still do not know if tagging was the real reason for it but we just have to add tags than be sorry..

I don't think there is a relation with earning and tagging. I have the habit though of checking the tags of the discussions and if I find the reason to add one and there room for it then I just do it. I'm missing a day of earning from my earnings page just to inform you that something is not right.

Hmm! I wonder if others are experiencing this glitch too. Sometimes when I don't show up for an entire day they don't even show a $0.00 amount for that day. They just leave out the day as if it never existed. But if you were here on Mylot any for that day then you would have some money, so it must be one of those glitches everyone is always talking about. Hopefully they will fix it and your earnings will be restored to you. Best of luck Be well.

I've always felt that tagging does effect your earnings but i've never felt like really testing it out. I tag every now and then & in that "every now and then" i've never checked to see how it was effecting my earnings. My guess is that it does to some degree. I don't think anything too big though! I could be wrong though, but uuhhh. Ah well! Just my guess! =o

To be honest with you, I very rarely tag, it takes way too long. Now I saw a discussion a while ago that said something along the lines of what you are saying and I thought "oh, perhaps I best tag and see", So I did and I did exactly the same as I always did and there was absolutely no difference at all. So for me, from my point of view I would say nope it does not affect earnings!

Yeah, I'm in agreement with you, today. I was thinking it was the tags that made the difference. So I tagged yesterday. Not much difference. Must have been something else. I'll keep trying. Thanks.

How many posts do you have to do a day to earn 2 dollars? I noticed yesterday for the first time I was tagging items and I made more money last night then I have ever made. But i did start a lot of discussions as well. I am not sure if tagging does affect, but I would be interested in knowing if it does affect your earnings.
