Does anyone know of any other sites like craigslist to find a car for sale. We are desperate. We are still without a vehicle and we want something right away so I'm looking for any sites like craigslist where I might find some. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried CarMax? They are online and you can search for a used car through them. I don't know where you are from or if you have a CarMax in the area. I know they are in at least 24 states. We bought from them and could not be more pleased with what we bought. And they are very nice people to work with. There are lots of places to search on the Internet. Have you tried AutoTrader.com,AutoMart.com, or Autoguide.com? You should be able to find a car through one of these places in an area near you.

Check out FreeCycle on Yahoo Groups to see if there is one in your area. Don't often find vehicles there, though. We have a CheapCycle here. Not sure if that is a Yahoo Group, but you might check. These are items sold at "yard sale" prices. Sometimes there are vehicles on there. Yahoo may have other groups that would work for you, too. Good luck. Have you tried http://carmax.com?

Valerie, Im not sure where you live but why don't you try Freecycle.org? Its an amazing site that is national and international and its FREE. Sign up, then make your request. Ive received many nice things and it is not uncommon for people to GIVE free cars, boats, mobile homes as well as smaller things like clothing, beds, housewares, books etc. Its a fun site to be hooked up with and maybe it can help you with your search for a car. Good luck to you! Kariann

Try kijiji.com. It's growing to be even more popular than craigslist and there are locations all over North America. You can probably find one for your community or someplace close.

Hi Valerie, Silly as this may sound, when I was looking for a car I checked on Ebay also. You can put in your area and how many miles you are willing to travel to check it out. I remember I put in 10 miles and had all the cars in my area that were selling on Ebay come up. You'd be surprised how many are in your area. And, you can go and check them out just like you would anywhere else. I wouldn't buy a car without an inspection from my mechanic too. I'm not in no way telling you to buy a car 2,000 miles away. I wouldn't even think of doing that, but you can come up with the one's in your area. Take care. Oh yes, and I did check on Auto Trader too. Good Luck to you.

If you're a member of a credit union, they always have cars for sale, repossessions, and they're lower priced than most. You'll also get favorable financing. Be careful, don't choose a lemon!

Yes, there is another site called backpage.com. It's very similar to Craigslist. I haven't really looked through the site so can't tell you if they offer cars. Good luck, carolbee

Hi Valerie, I didnt read everyones post, so this may be repeitive... Try local charity orginzations. I live in Michigaann and there are several .orgizations that accept older cars as donations, repair them and sell them... We donated one of our vehicles.... Salvation Army, Goodwill, Mel Trotter etc...
