Had been to Festival Supermall and was surprised that they are now charging Parking Fee? I hate it really? It's not the money but it's the principle. Are they not supposed to provide free parking for customers and clients who patronize them? First,What do you think about this?

Well yeah you have a point there. I am wondering just the same too... I think that is to protect them from people who park their cars but go somewhere else... however they should ask a receipt and if a customer showed one, they should not charge parking fee anymore just like with what puregold is doing...

Yes that is a good idea but I believe that this malls are just really after the additional income they are getting from parking fees. They can't even give free parking despite the benefit of being patronized.

Yeah right salonga. Imagine how much they earned from that parking fee per day! Wow thats thousands and thousands... And how much more those that are not fixed rated... OVER!!!

Personally, anywhere you look anymore this continues to happen with more and more places adding a parking Fee and it makes you wonder how they stores can even begin to survive anymore. As someone who is a Small Business owner and at the time being, working for someone else, I have seen the downfalls financially of such a thing and often wish that things like this could never happen as well.

Yes dear, it is a sad reality. It happens anywhere and seems like people have gotten used to it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a lovely day!

I have never heard of such a thing. That is outrageous! Do they promise outstanding security for your vehicle? Is there a charge at the door for anyone who parks off the property and walks into the mall? Next they will charge for the use of shopping carts..... Where is the Festival Supermall located? I have never really been into malls since I do not care for large crowds of people. Strip malls are more to my liking. I wonder if the public is rebeling in any way or refusing to shop at that mall. Tell me more about it.......

I got to thinking about this and I remember in Alaska that the parking garages did this. If you brought your ticket back stamped from one of the stores then they usually waved the fee. Later on they started charging everyone that parked there. I used to worry when I would drive all the way through and end up at the exit that they might charge me. I would have to explain that the garage was full and that I could not find a parking spot. lol

It's at Filinvest, Muntinlupa, Alabang. For years they never charge and suddenly they are charging and the set-up is just the same, same security, same open parking spaces. Those who parked for less than 30 minutes are not charged. Imagine, instead of giving more favors to those who stayed long in the mall and did a lot of shopping they are even the ones charged. I am really looking forward to the charges for shopping carts and perhaps for the use of comfort rooms??? Hope they go bankrupt one of these days and I will really not shop their anymore. They have just lost one of their biggest shoppers! /lol

Are you talking about the open space across? or the one with the guard who handed parking receipt? The open space is free and i used to park there. The other parking area where you will be given a parking ticket is also free the last time i went there. If that is the one you're talking about then I should not parked there. There were malls who charged parking because of maintenance and security but it is on the basement parking. Well, for me it's ok to pay for your cars safety than be vulnerable to thieves roaming around.

I"m talking about the open parking lots where tickets are issued but no fee charged.

their reason for pay parkings is your car will be "safe" 'coz there are guards there on duty and they can assure you that your car is in good hands..you can take the risk of the free parking area outside the mall but you will not be guarded..

But the trouble with Festival Supermall is that they have been doing it for free then why all of a sudden they are now charging some fee? Had they been charging ever since then nobody will question them.

well if that is the case they really should think it over again..they should have putted a notice to their customers first before doing that..

Yes there are some malls asking for parking fee but I think in our place most malls do not. It's free to park...

That should be! Shoppers are entitled to this amenity for patronizing their mall!

What? I never been at festival for a long time so I guess I will not go there and better go to SM, they should have it free for their customers and avoid collecting fees. It is one of the things shoppers looking in the mall, if they have good parking facilities would be of big advantages from others.

Okay thanks for joining me in boycotting that mall and I am encouraging my other friends as well. They should feel how their greed would affect their sales.
