One of the best ways to get used to hearing your own voice is to use headphones while recording yourself. Also, Using high quality equipment that can balance the voices and cancel the noise around you will help. Record your voice while you are reading or singing about something or someone that you absolutely love. Always prepare yourself for a recording session by speaking to yourself in a private room, that is quiet... Remember that your voice is a GIFT! It is one of many, many ways to communicate to the world, and communication is a powerful feature that you must learn to use... Learn to love and develop every single feature that you have. It's the way of Nature and Life! :) http://www.singsnap.com http://www.gcast.com

This is very common and happened to me and most people I know. If we hear ourselves on video or anything recorded our voices tend to sound different to our own ears, but yet not to someone elses. Believe it or not it has to do with the tissues and bones affect the sounds you hear. So basically it is all in your head...lol Here is the link where you can read about this: http://www.helium.com/items/658633-the-reason-your-voice-sounds-different-when-its-recorded

Yes, it happen to me many times. My voice sounds different in the recorder. But to others, they said it is me, they can identify that it;s me but if I have to listen to it, I can't figure out that it's me. lol. Yes, we can't believe that our voice is different in the recorder than in personal, that is when we are the one who listen to it. Maybe that is normal.. lol.
