the ways to earn more in mylot!

there are a lot of things that you could do to earn more in mylot-
i have mentioned some of them and tell me how much you are doing to earn more over here-
1. start discussions on genuinely new topics. i have seen that the issues that affect the day to day life earn more responses.
2. respond to the responses that you get. the responses must be meaningful and not merely thanks and ya or no etc. etc.
3. also the discussions must be made more presentable by adding some photographs. they can earn you some if they are eye catching.
4. every discussion , response or comment whatsoever must be a minimum of four lines length. content must be original, genuine, must be able to engage the respondent in contributing further to the discussions and the responses.
5. there are already so much discussions on every topic that further discussions that may be created should be genuine enough to fetch more responses.
6. active referrals is one more thing that a person create. inviting friends and other people to join under them is indeed a good thing that will add up to their daily earnings. also there responses that would help the referrals to continue here in mylot and to respond more.
7. discussions should be thought provoking and should fetch responses which would be themselves original and in turn they may fetch further responses or comments.
8. tagging a discussion and putting is under proper interest group is also helpful in getting the discussion more responses.
9. anything that is posted-whether it is a discussion or a response or a comment must be of a considerable length... well as much lengthy as possible.. but no crap.this would increase the earnings.
10. and most important of all is to type fast and more.
lets see friends... what are the other points that can be added to this discussion and lets share sincerely how much we are following to "create less crap" here in mylot.

thanks for the guidelines here, i have enjoyed reading them and it has given me a few pointers on where i am going wrong here.
i do always attempt to my my resposes long but also relevant to the topic.
i do stuggle to start conversations at times tho and struggle to think of relevant issues / topics that would interest people
i do love my lot and enjoy participating here as well as earning a few pennies at the same time :)

well thanks for contributing to this discussion. you have mentioned of struggling to start conversations. i have been struggling to start discussions since the last couple of weeks. every time i think of starting a topic for discussion i run a small search for things that are already there and i find that there are already loads of discussions that are available. and also some of them have made centuries on that front.... in generating responses.
perhaps i am still a loser on that front.

hey praveenjena it seems that you research alot to earn more on mylot and i appreciate your gesture of sharing all those tips with other people, which most of people doesnt do.
i do follow some of the point you mentioned over here , like giving meanin ful and lengthy responses, responding to every response i get with offcourse meaning full not just like thanks and all..,and for responding good quality i choose only those discussion on which i can respond well so i am bit choosy ..lol
and offcours some time i satart discussion which are thought provoking .. and try to put a catchy image with that and it works and help to earn more ....
i dont have any referal yet as it just less than a month i have joined mylot..
what i got to know that making freinds is also helpful .. your friends respond to your discussion and and you too respond to their discussion so the result is none of your discussion left un started ...
wish i can type fast and spend much time on mylot , i really enjoy being on mylot but i can do more than hour or two .. but i do try to login 3 or 4 time in a day so that i can get different mob every time ...
i really enjoyed reponding to this discussion as in this i wrote more than 10 line which is good for earning ...lol

well that was so good of you to give such a big response to this discussion. and from the points that you have made i would add to the list.
13. make more of friends so that you will get responses from them and give responses to them. well if you find some like minded friends then it is certain that you may share big responses.
14. try to login at different times of the day so that you may find different types of people and a variety of comments and responses. to add to this point due to the difference in the time zone... i could find more of a people of a country at a particular time. for example.. as USA is behind IST and my country INDIA is ahead... it is more likely that i will find friends from the USA if i login during the night time.

That is a wonderful list of advice you have posted for long timers and for newbies here at mylot.com I hate so see boring discussions or a discussion started with just a couple of words. Those have to be bringing the site down. When I see those, I wish the site would have some kind of alert to zap them for not being a true discussion.
Oh did you mention that adding pictures to your posts are another way to earn a bit more here?

ya certainly i agree with you that there must be a alert for all the crap that are being loaded into this site daily. and also the load of discussions with no responses is ever increasing. for that i have taken a small step... like starting a discussion once in two weeks.
ya certainly adding pictures to your posts are another way to earn a bit more here... that way if some one downloads that picture and uses that in my lot then you earn something... i do not know how much ... but there is certainly some earning.
i have visited your profile and you have been here for two years... if you could remember there was another header in the earnings page " earnings from photos" . it was believed that if the photos in the photo album is used then you are going to earn some. but i have seen something..... by adding picture to the discussions i found that there was some earnings i got under that heading. till then i had no photos in my album. i later added some photos in my album and got earning there too.
now all the earnings have been included under "participatory earnings" . i have seen these things happen.. so i feel that there is some earning associated with that.

12. encourage the newbies and advice them not to enter into the race of starting lots of irrelevant discussions. a discussions with a couple of words will fetch nothing more than a couple of lines at the most.

Everything you say in your post could in my opinion be summed up: approach myLot with seriousness and maturity. I personally don't understand many features, nor am I interested in them (those stars, for example). If I would focus on how to make more money with myLot I might as well go stand on the street corner and sell chewing gum (probably would make more money there LOL). But I don't think that this is what myLot is about. myLot is about establishing myself as a serious (hopefully likable) person who people would like to interact with. That doesn't mean that I am a philantropic, in the end it is self-serving (like everything in life we do). In my profile for example I have a link to a traffic exchange, people (hopefully) start to trust me, start trusting the things I promote, etc. That's capitalism, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as you approach it (again) in a seriuous manner.

hi. I have always wondered why some of my responses dont earn me anything. I mean to say i don't earn as much from my responses as i expect. After reading your tutorial i understand where i'm going wrong.
Even then i would like to add something. Its for sure that you earn more if you post more and more.

Thanks for the useful suggestions. You have done a good thing and I rated your discussion and response poitive. I have also heard that reading other's discussions , responses and marking htem positive increases your earnings. However, I do not know how far this is genuine and true.

and also thanks a lot for rating my discussion positive. as per reading other responses wont give you any earnings if you do not contribute them with your responses and comments. and about marking them positive i am not at all sure if they help in the earnings. i hope that it may be true. but one thing for sure that if you respond well and rate the discussions positive then you will certainly expect some responses and positive ratings in return.

Certainly appreciate those pointers on earning
more at MyLot. I'm always interested in earning more.
My best secret for earning more on MyLot is to post
more quality responses to other people's discussions
and also to post high quality discussions of my own.
As you said, the day to day life discussions do draw
more responses. I have seen that from my own experience.
And of course, I've been trying to update my discussions
daily as often as possible. Real chat too, like you mentioned,
not just one liners.
I try to talk with the people that come by so we can
exchange ideas. So much fun!

first of all thanks a lot for enriching my discussion with the response of yours. sorry i took so long to respond to you. your points say that you spend a lot of time here.
well you have given some more ideas that i could be adding to the pointers.
let me add first-
15. updating the discussions is also very important- that can be done by the same way of adding comments.
this may have been said earlier but the point that is intended is the fact that the comments may have a altogether new aspect of the discussion and those additions will help update the discussion.
16. indulging in "real chat" will help build up the discussion.

Very good tips indeed.I think your ideas will be very useful for those who earn quite less because they don't know what mistake they are committing and repeat the mistake again and again.As a result,their earnings are considerably reduced.
I think you have added almost everything that's needed.So,I think it would be really difficult for me to add anything more to your ides.Let me suggest a few more:-
#The heading of the discussion should be paid more attention to receive more responses.The header should be relevant to the subject,there should also be a sense of curiosity that should force mylotters to know more about.Also,it should be short,simple and catchy.
#Also,don't start more than 2 or 3 discussions per day as each of the discussion you have started will receive less attention from your friends.Its advisable to start one discussion a day.In that all your friends' attention will be on that particular discussion.
#Also,don't everyone forget to read the mylot guidelines situated at the bottom bar.This will help you learn more about mylot and how to post more responses without violations terms and guidelines of mylot.By following this,your earnings won't decrease,as decrease in earnings is mainly because of deletion of your posts and responses.
#Also,don't concentrate too much on your earnings.Just enjoy your time here with your friends and you will definitely get the earnings you deserved.
#Most importantly,don't post referral links in your discussions or responses,as it is against terms and guidelines of mylot and would be deleted.

hello 98765m,
well those were the points...20, 21, 22, 23, 24. and now the pointers are really expanding in numbers. the suggestions are indeed great and i think that very soon i will be incorporating them in the discussions that i will start.
well till now i have had about a dozen or so deletions that i could remember and also corresponding decrease in the earnings. but since the last month or so i am not facing any such problems as i concentrated on adhering to the guidelines.
two times of the deletions were related to the referral links. i posted some and they got deleted for that reason.
you know i have known some people personally who have left mylot. actually they would post small responses and would complain that they are not earning nicely. after being here for some days they will leave. and the basic problem with them is that they came here just for the earnings and had no fun here. so when they found that they are not making enough money here they left it out.
and again thanks for the response and more importantly the contributions that you have made to increase the pointers . i hope that this discussion will provide whole some knowledge to all .

Enjoy and be friendly. If you are not enjoying this, then there really is no point. I have referred several people and told others about mylot, and the biggest draw that I tell them is that this is something I do anyway. I did this for years at another site so the opportunity to earn is a perk for me, I would do it anyway even if there was nothing to be made. I like earning though, because this is a fun way to do it!
Make it real. Your responses tell others something about you, from your views and beliefs and attitudes not just about the topic at hand but of course all the other little side notes that any discussion involving several people might go on. Your responses will also draw people to you or push them away.

17. be friendly to others over here .... it may be such that you may disagree on certain views but it quite essential that you mention your disagreement with pleasure and not in a manner that would annoy others.
18. do what ever you are doing because you like it to be done and consider your earnings just to be a perk. that way you will be happier.
19. you should keep in mind that your postings are a reflection of yours. people tend to get an idea about you from your postings. so keeping this in mind you should do the postings.

ya buddy.... it is most essential that you enjoy what you do here in mylot . that will certainly help you in the long run. and in addition to that the problem that you have mentioned here is the problem that i too face ..... for that i respond a lot to others discussions and once a while i start a discussion . it takes me two weeks or so to start a new discussion.

And I used to never start new discussion.
But the worst of all,because of my poor English,I typed slow and short.

well that is indeed one of the advantages of joining mylot is that i have increased the speed of my hand in typing and in fact the speed has really doubled since i have joined.
and about English - it has also gone with some sort of refinement. there is a lot of improvement. i had faced a lot of problems initially as my mother tongue is not English. but now i am more confident of my English than i was earlier.
