Couldn't be there but have just finished watching the Nelson Mandela Concert.

Wow what a night, I wish I had been there. An amazing man, It doesn't seem like 20 years ago that they had the Free Nelson Mandela concert. There was an amazing line up including Queen, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Amy Winehouse, Jamelia and many many more.
What was the last live music event you attended and also do you wish you could have been at this historic occasion of Nelson Mandela 90th birthday bash?
I have seen live music in local venues but the last large one I went to was to see Greenday at Milton Keynes Bowl.

Hi, ellie,
No have just missed it, I'v been out all evening and rushed back to see who had been evicted for Big Brother House, yes its boring for a lot of people. my husband hate it so he have watch t.v. in the bedroom and leave me alone, Can't get E4 channel upstairs. Anyway getting back to Nelson Mandela concert, I hope they will repeat it again so I can watch it.

Hi Ellie-unfortunatley I didn't see it-would of loved to he is an amazing man and expect he loved the concert himself...cant remember when I last went to a concert-good on you for doing that it keeps you young!! blessings littleowl

Hi Littleowl, I have been to so many in my youth but the rpices of the tickets these days prevent me from going so much. I just love live music and the atmosphere. He was frail but was determined he wasn't going to miss his birhtday party and seemed to enjoy yes. Ellie :D

I watched it on BBC yesterday, only snippets though. The Hyde park , i think, is the ideal place and what an even to celebrate and all for yet another noble cause. I heard that it's named with a 'number" - the same number he had been identified with for so many years in the prison. He doesn't want anyone of is to be reduced to a number. What a terrible time he had!

The last live music event I saw was on Friday whilst on holiday - and among others there was Spud the Piper - he played for Madonna but we had seen him loads of times before that!
I would have loved to have been at that concert and soaked up the atmosphere for a man who stands true to his principles and suffered so badly for them! xxx

I agree ellie, he is really a great performer!I have not seen him in live yet, I wish..LOL! Last time I had the chance to attend a live concert was last April, during the Anniversary of the Company where my husband is working! It was fun and thousands of people! I love the food too! LOL! It was the Doobie Brothers Band and the 3 dogs Night( if I remember the name right)

The last one I went to was Kenny Rogers Christmas....I don't live very close to an area that has many concerts. I have to travel quite a ways to attend something like this. I probably wouldn't have wanted to be in attendance for such a big event. I really don't like big crowds! LOL....

I also like and you can watch it,but last night did not come back.I was very worried about him.For his eldest becther's house,but also to many people,hate it.This time in any case to the President of South Africa to pull the music Box.I hope that they will together.
