My favorites would have to be RENT and Little Shop of Horrors. In my highschool we performed Little Shop of Horrors and it was fun!

Little shop of horrars must be so funny to perform! I'm glad you chose Chicago - we do three numbers from it in the entertaining group I do freelance work with!

It's a classic, good choice. Personally I've never seen it, I think if I did maybe I'd like the music more, 'cause at the moment it's a bit to slow for me.

Everyone here knows all the new musicals that I know nothing about. My favorites go back much farther. My all time favorite is Showboat starring Ava Gardner and Howard Keel. They just don't make classy musicals like that any more.

I love new musicals because you can discover new favourites, but I also think it's important to not forget the old "classics"! Show Boat started a whole new era in musical theatre when it came, introducing full storylines and more story-telling lyrics. Great choice! Thankyou for your response! Than you all for your responses! I'm glad that I'm not the only one here loving musicals, and I find it interesting to see what other peoples oppinions are of the shows!

My all time favourite is Evita, I'm off to see it in London on Friday night and I can't wait. I've seen the film with Madonna and Antonio Banderas and I've got the album. I love the film so much and I can't believe I'm going to see it live!

You're so lucky! I hope you have a wonderfull evening in that theatre! Do you kno who is playing Evita? You'll have to tell us when youu do! I saw the film when I was young, and then the stage version a few years ago - you're in for a few surprises if you've not listened to the stage version! ;) They changes a few things to make Madonna the only big female star in the film (and I think she's good in it!).

"Chicago" CD sound track from the movie musical "Chicago." It is so uplifting, and wonderful. I play it often.

I like the music as well, but I really don't like the film! It is the worst of skinny I've ever seen, that cast. Not many of those girls would be up to doing Chicago on stage 6-8 times per week, they are to thin! Is that what we are ment to find sexy nowadays?

Seems I have to go out searching, you've actually mentioned a musical I've never heard of! Fun! What is it about, when is it from, who is it by? I love finding out new informations about musicals!

Seminole High school always wins awards for their drama department. They are amazing. I got to see them even though I don't go to the school. Last year they did "Once Upon a Mattress" a different version of the Princess and the Pea. I had never heard of it, but it was great.

:O Once upon a mattress!! It is wonderfull! I'm so glad it is still being performed! I'd love to be Princess Whinnifred, the princess on the pea, she is just no non-princess-like! Do you know the music is composed by Rocherd Rodgers daughter, Mary Rodgers? Richard Rodger as in Sound of music, Oklahoma, Carousel and everything by Rodgers and Heart!! And Mary Rodgers son Adam Guettel won 6 Tonys a few years ago with his musical The Light in the Piazza - it goes in the familly, apparently!

Mhm, I understand you. But did you like the movie? (Have you seen the movie?) I thought it was kind of boring, the whole grandiose feeling you get on stage is lost in a medium where special effects are so comman.

Great - so what are your oppinions of musicals like We Will Rock You, based on Queens music, and Tommy, written originally as a concept album by The Who and Pete Townshend? But I guess that's more rock than metal...

Wow! At which theatre? I love the music, but I've never got the chance to see it live (though I've seen the film recording of the stage version). It's a wonderfull musical, showing us al about the human nature by making the caracters "not human" (as in being cats, not people...).
