Religious in my opinion and what I have seen is this: Religious people are pious, they think dress, act, and some believes and some don't it is a show, you do this and you do that and judges, all book no feelings. One of the holier than thou attitudes. self-righteous, and the sad thing is this is where the Bible speaks of where Jesus says, they will come onto me and say Lord, Lord, did I not do this or do that, and the Lord will say "I knew you not" For He knows each and every heart, why we do the things we do, Is it for self approve, attention or is it for Christ. Spiritual in my opinion is what I try to be and I have seen others try to be. To be spiritual, means you have a personal relationship with the Father and Son, you walk, talk and live for Christ, you try your hardest to please God and not man, You, worship with your heart and soul. It is like when you are falling in love with a person male/female. you want to talk about them, live for them, and be with them, This is spiritual, You love Christ, more than you love your self . It is not just easy but then again when you fall in love, it is very easy to follower the lover of your heart.

I can try. Being religious means you are a follower of a specific religion with all it's particular dogmas and stipulations. A religious person might follow any specific path but it will be specific in what and how it is followed. A spiritual person feels a connection to a higher power. They might pray or not. They might follow beliefs from a variety of religious paths but not one in particular. Most who feel they are more spiritual than religious live honest and respectfully. They might feel a connection to all of life as well as a higher power. They simply do not feel that any ONE religious path is right for them. I hope that made some sense.

Yes, it makes a lot of sense. Does this not give ground to conflicting points of view from strong advocates of either ?

i thought religious and spiritual is just the same. So my understanding in religious is that being a religious person you always pray and go to the church. But if you are spiritual you just believe the forces of nature around you.

For me religious means performing some rituals visiting temples for peace of minds or for any thing. Spiritual means when you contact with your inner,In broadway it means you start journey within yourself to know about you.Who are you,Why we are born, what are our purpose to live in earth.

To me religious=ritual people just want a label so they can brag about it so they go to ____ church every Sunday and that makes them a good "religious" person. I am a Christian and to me that means a follower of Christ not of any denomination. When He came to this earth He did NOT preach religion. He taught love and respect for Him and those around us. So to me spiritual=of the spirit which means if you are of the Spirit then you have the fruits of the Spirit which are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

I think when you are religious you usually stick with only one religion of your choice and follow only their dog. When you are spiritual you don't just have one belief in communicating with God or the creator. You search through everything and make up your own beliefs. Most spiritual people don't get involved with organized religions but still believe in God.Spiritual things are hard to describe in 3 dimensional language.
