Do you dye your hair if so why? How old were you when you started? I started to dye my hair at 16 just because it was something all my friends were doing, then I stopped after a year, I tried it again in my 30's just for a change from the old me, and I stopped again. Now I have been dyeing it since my late 40's cause I do not like the gray as it comes in. what about you?

Speaking of dying my hair, I need to dye it again. I actually started dying my hair when I turned 20, when I started getting gray hair. Now it's gotten worse, mainly on the front where it's very noticeable. I have trouble finding the right color. I have been a red head, blonde, had black. Now that I went black, it was hard to go red. I looked like Ozzy Osbourne it wasn't even funny. So I had to dye it black again. So, I'm waiting a few years so I can go back to my natural color which is a brunette.

I don't think I like to stay the same color all the time, I like to change.

Me to, I want to go back to my natural hair color since I haven't been a brunette since I was 20. Then from there, I will go back to red. I won't go black anymore, because it's hard using a different color. So maybe brown with some highlights, I just hope my hair will let me go brown. I don't want a 2 toned hair again, it was awful, getting hair dye, while the top of my head was red while the rest was black. I looked like Ozzy, if he was standing on his head.

I started dying my hair when I was in College, I wanted to have a very shiny and black hair since my hair is kinda brown...So, I was happy with the result but makes me piss off that it will just last after 2 months or so..I never stopped though until I had a job and when I got married, I was tired dying!LOL!

I color my hair red because of my skin problem. Also, I love having red hair.

I am the opposite from you. I start dying my hair at about 17 yrs as I am a natural blond but it became very mousy blond so I went platinum (all the rage when I was young). Later I tried being a redhead which also suited me. Then in my 40s I just had silver blond highlights...now I am lucky to have the platinum silver hair color naturally that I used to have pay for.

if I had blonde hair I would like it go like that too, but it doesn't look nice when you have black and gray that is why I hate it so much

The first time I dyed my hair was when I was around 20 or so i guess. It wasn't a really wild color something close to my natural hair color. I've been dyeing once in a while since then. SOmetimes I get bored with my hair so I want to dye it a different shade. But I really hate it when the dye starts to fade and my hairs turns into a dull shade of orange! I'm lucky not to have any white or grey hair yet hopefully I won't for a long time. :)

I went through a phase in high school where i didnt like my black hair . I wanted light hair and tried many times to go blonde . That only went orange and I mean the fame kind . The I found a richer shade of red I stuck with . Then , I wanted light brown with blonde high lightes, but that didnt turn out how i wanted . So , I just kepy dying my hair till I was about 23 and I said this is crazy , i want my natural color back . I spend the next year growing it out and then getting it cut real short . Now my hair is natural and down to my bum . I think i will stick with this awhile . I have noticed one or two grey hairs from stress , but its not that noticable . If it get worse I will use a rinse cloest to my natural shade . My one gram actually loved grey /white hair and was sad she didnt get it . she was always looking for a rinse or something to make her hair kinda silver , people thought she was crazy .

Yep, I dye my hair. Why? I have mousy light brown colored hair(sometimes referred to as dishwater blonde). I dye it usually reds or frost it. I just dyed my hair on May 9th the dye was called Roasted Coffee by Garnier. I do it to perk myself up and as reward for losing weight and I feel that I look better in the reds so I feel better about myself. I started dying my hair about 12 years old dyed it a red called strawberry blonde. I don't really have any grays as of yet, but then again they could be just blending in my normal hair color. I dye my hair once a year or so.

No, I don't dye mine. I was blonde all my life, and now, I'm platinum blonde... a sort of silver and gold colour. It just seems better to keep it natural, as it's long as well. It would cost me a fortune to dye it and probably take some of the goodness out of my hair as well. Brightest Blessings.

Me and My Hair!!! - Lol... a quiet drink prior to my niece's wedding.
Yes, I think it is in the case of a blonde. It's what people have always known, and you don't get the salt and pepper effect. I've uploaded a pic for you, so you can see how my hair looks. It's a tad longer now, but exactly the same colour. xx

I think my reply is quite intresting for others. In my region white hairs are a symbol of getting aged like in 40's or 50's but in my family we got a hair disease that our hairs start geeting white in soo early age like in 9 or 10 yrs soo i and most of my cousins and frnds who belong to my family start dying hairs from very early age abou 12 or 13 yrs. Another intresting fact is this only boys hairs got white all femals are normal. I cant understand this but it in our genes.

A couple years ago I got my hair highlighted with red dye and really liked it, but not to cover the grey. A few months ago I went for a hair cut and to have it highlighted again, and the beautician and my daughter convinced me that since I was getting it cut so short it would look better if I just got it dyed red, which would cover the grey, so I did. I love it, so I'm glad that I did it. I am 53 and I really don't have much grey to cover.

I do dye my hair, I started dying my hair at the age of 19. I tried to go from brown to mahogany, it came out bright orange! From there I went many colours including, red, black, purple, blue, green(by mistake) and my current colour is blonde. So I have not seen my natural colour for 16 years! I am not sure if there is any grey in it now, I would have to grow it out to see!

I saw my 1st grey hair at 18, by the time I was 27, I was grey all around the temple of my hair. That is when I started dying it. I still do, I am in my late 40's and just can't seem to let myself be grey. But I gotta tell ya I am really tired of dying my hair after all these years..

I am nearling my 40's and I have been thinking about the logic of dying my hair. Being a guy I think it is so different, my grey is coming out like a badge of honor. A little here, a little there. The idea of growing hair in my ears and nose is a bit irritating but it is just the same. I don't me me dying my hair any time soon.

I have never dyed my hair before and i dont think i will do it anytime soon. Im 15 and its around this time that i notice a lot of people my age doing it. My cousins that are around the same age as i am have both dyed their hair. I think the influence and desire of being a unique individual that causes a lot of teens to dye their hair. However, i am happy with the way i look at the moment so i wont change anything and especially not for anyone else other than me. People who say i should when i dont want to are sometimes annoying. Oh, i have black hair if you wanted to know.

Nope, I don't dye my hair...well, I just want it naturally. I believe that dyeing your hair will just ruin it especially when you did this while your still young. Better to take care of it early, than to waste money later because you have to dye it on a regular basis...
