I fell sick on my husband's birthday!

I feel terrible - we were looking forward to this day, making plans to go out for lunch and dinner, and then I fell sick last night after dinner. No reason why, but I felt nauseous and started vomiting, and had a fever after that. This morning, I couldn't wake up - we had planned to visit a temple and then spend our time in town, shopping and eating! Instead, I'm now stuck at home - he insisted that I rest! I feel really bad about this. How do you feel if your spouse or partner fall sick on your birthday? Do you go ahead with your plans, or do something else?

If I felt sick like that, vomiting and all that, then my husband wouldn't try to make me do anything. He would try to make me stay home and rest, I would be the one that would still try to go, whether it was his b-day or mine. But he's like that, he always tries to take care of me. We would pick a later day to go out, when I was feeling better.

Oh my gosh no, of course not. I don't worry about the plans they can be done another time. I worry about my husband as he does me. That's the thing about being adults you don't mind waiting or putting something off until it can be done. Patience is a virtue. Now don't think I don't feel bad about it if I have to put something I feel important off, I do. But these things can not be helped. If you didn't come down with a bug do you think something you ate might have made you sick or some kind of food poisoning? If this is the case people get deathly sick from this an need to be at the hospital. Take care and I hope you are feeling better in a jiffy. I'm sorry that you got sick, I do know how you feel about having to put off your plans on his birthday. The good thing is you can always do things when you feel better and you both will enjoy it more.

I was feeling better by late afternoon. Our friends visited us with birthday wishes and a cake for him, so I guess that settled the celebration thing for me. He was good...he wanted me to rest - I just felt bad, because of all days, I had to fall sick on his birthday. Anyway, we planned to have a dinner (sort of belated birthday dinner) sometime this week. So thanks for your wishes and have a good day!

I'm sorry to hear that, how I wish that we can schedule or decide when we want to be sick (particularly when we feel very lazy to report for work). If I'm your husband I will definitely not proceed with the plan. Why, because you were part of the plan. It will not be complete if I'll go ahead without you by my side, eating, shopping and going to the temple as plan. But I will do some activities in the plan such as going to the temple (for us it is tradition to go to church to give thanks to God) and maybe other things that will not be affected by your presence.

I do hope you're feeling better soon Lazeebee, and are able to do something with your husband this evening. My hubby and I tend not to celebrate birthdays, so I don't suppose it would make a whole heap of difference to our plans for the day.

If I had a simple head cold I would go ahead and go on with my plans, because I can not sleep when I have a cold. If I had bowel movement problems, or possibly on my period I may not go but would definitely do something at home so that my husband was ensured a lovely time. I am sorry you feel sick and I do hope that you feel well soon. Have a Great day.
