What is for supper tonight??

What will you be cooking for supper tonight?? Now before you decide, the rules are that your pantry is stocked completely full.. You will have everything on hand, there will be no need to run out and get extra items that you are out of.. No matter how outlandish, you will have the items stocked in your pantry.. You also have to cook for your entire family and any extra people that you may have over at the time, your friends, your kids frineds, extra family members, or anyone who has dropped in unannounced.. It can be as simple as hot dogs or as fancy as Lobster Newburg.. What are you going to be cooking and how many people will you be feeding.. The sky and your imagination is the limit..

I'm not entertaing anyone today. I am cooking Italian sausage, peppers, onions and potatoes in sauce at the moment. I live alone, but sometimes the kids drop by and I don't mind if they help themselves. I usually try to cook a one pot meal on Sundays because I work and I can have a few meals ready for the week.

I am not much of a meat eater, but I do love the Italian or Polish sausages, especially when you add the peppers and onions.. I can smell your kitchen now and it smells heavenly.. Well, my mouth is watering sufficiently now.. Enjoy your supper!!

Oh well if we are making it all up then ...... We are having marinated steaks cooked on the brand new shiny grill (that I won't be getting till august), huge baked potatoes, grilled corn on the cob, razzleberry pie and ice cream for dessert. It will be mom, me and my daughter for dinner. Now in reality we are having baked chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and jello for dessert.

I put a bottom round roast in the crockpot this morning. I had helped my daughter clean out the freezer at our apartment so she could start putting her own food in there (I stay with my mother) and we came upon this roast I had forgotten about. So, it's cooking with new potatoes and the one and only carrot I found in the fridge topped with onion soup mix. I'll make gravy when it's all done with the drippings. It's funny because I started a discussion almost identical at about the same time - didn't know you'd started this until I posted mine. I'd have posted sooner if I hadn't had to go out to the kitchen to do something - came back in and posted it. We must be hungry for Sunday dinner, huh??? LOL

Sounds like it is a favorite of yours, sounds good also, since I do love broccoli and subs.. The soup would be great with rice in it also, now that is my favorite broccoli, cheese and rice in a casserole, I can eat tons of it..

All this food sounds yummy! But I am on a diet and hubby just recently became totally toothless so I have to be careful what I cook. We also have differences when it comes to what to fix we never want the same thing. I would love some Low-fat Spaghetti with Sun dried tomatoes and sweet basil. Hubby though has to settle for something soft and easy to chew maybe a tuna sandwhich I still cant get him to eat much since he had his teeth pulled out.

The spaghetti with the sun dried tomatoes and sweet basil sound so good.. Although the tuna sounds really good also, I do love a good tuna salad.. I put so much other stuff in it, you almost can't taste the tuna.. Have a wonderful day..

I would be cooking chicken and dumplings. Yummy. As far as how many I would be feeding, probably close to twenty people. Mostly just immediate family members. I would be nice.

well I will do like my mother, she cooks for 300 people, so she prepares spaghetti sauce, takes her a whole day to do it, but she prepares it then when supper is ready, quick salad of tomato and lettuce, hot bread rolls, spaghetti, homemade apple and strawberry and rhubarb pies which were made and frozen for the occasion, tea and coffee.

A spaghetti supper is the best.. I remember when I was a young girl, we had spaghetti suppers at our church every Wednesday night.. They always served garlic bread and always had a jar of honey on the table.. But now when we have to feed a crowd, I always make spaghetti.. Thanks, and have a great day, Donna

I will be making BLT sandwhiches, we try not to eat big suppers, because we usually have a good lunch. I have the bacon. lettuce, and tomatoes. I also have frozen french fries and I will cook those up also. Might now sound very healthy but thats what I've got for tonight. I will be feeding just the two of us, maybe one more if he shows up. We have a friend that comes over all the time, and I never know when he'll be here, but we feed him alot. I always make extra.

That is so sweet, to be feeding a friend.. We all need to do that and the world would be a better place.. Your supper sounds so good, that I am thinging the same thing for mine this evening.. I do have the lettuce and bread, but will be going to the grocery store in a bit.. I can get the rest of it them.. I also know of a small market that has Granger County tomatoes and they are too die for, they are the world's most perfect tomato..

Thanks for calling me sweet...j/k. Yeah he's not married or anything and is a truck driver so its not that often he gets a homecooked meal, unless he goes to his parents house, which he doesn't go there very often. I don't know how many times we've fed him, he's always grateful tho. Yeah, we need more people to be that way in this world. I wished we had a produce market around here to get fresh tomatoes, but we have to go to the store.

Well... I am doing ribs again tonight. They have been simmering all day in the crockpot with smoked bbq sauce, honey, and mesquite-lime marinade. I'm going to put them in the oven with more bbq sauce here shortly, then I am going to grab some coleslaw to serve with them. I would be having corn on the cob but because of the recent flooding, corn is like 75 cents an ear instead of 4 or 5 ears for $1, so I won't be buying more of that until the price drops back down to reasonable again.

Oh my gosh, I do love ribs and the coleslaw makes it almost perfect.. Try hushpuppies with them, they make it complete.. I think that I may have to have that tomorrow night myself.. I believe that I would do without the corn also.. Thanks so much, all of the responses have got me starving.. Have a great evening, Donna

I don't believe they have to be in the oven for very long, just long enough for the sauce to cook into them.. My husband makes the ribs most times, he thinks that since I am a woman, I can't make ribs as well as a man.. It is a "grill" thing with him..

You know, my sister was just telling me how our dad's girlfriend makes awesome ribs and she said that she also cooks them in the crockpot and then puts them in the oven. How long do you put them in the oven for after they've been in the crockpot?

I forgot to add that you should use about 8 to 10 cabbage leaves...and after you cook them you "drain" them, not "dream" them. lol... When you stuff them, just try to guess how much you would need to put in each cabbage roll. I have a large cooking spoon that I use to cook with and I put a big one of those in each roll. I hope they turn out well for you. :)

we had fried fish for dinner. and i like it! im already full with the fish and rice i ate awhile ago. i dont care what's the menu for every meal, what's important for me is that i eat with my whole family, and that makes the food tastier than you expected it to be. my wish came true, i ate a meal with my mom and two younger siblings, and i miss them!

Hi DonnaLawson! If I had an unlimited pantry I think I would make sushi. But you did not say that I would have unlimited skill and I do not know how to make sushi :(. Which is why I will not be making Lobster Newburg either. I never heard of that. Instead I will make brownies. And I will eat them all by myself. Have a lovely day! Hartley

Brownies sound as good as Sushi or Lobster Newburg anyway. maybe better.. Myself, I have never made either one of them.. But wouldn't it be great if you did have unlimited groceries.. I can never make exactly what I want because everytime that I get a recipe out, I find that I don't have one or more of the ingredients.. So, that is the main reason that I gave everyone an unlimited pantry.. Thanks for the response and have a great evening, Donna
