Well I live here in Athens, Georgia, USA and my dad's side of the family is from Brooklyn, New York. I love that it is fast pace and that there is always something to do. But the people that I have come across when I go there are so rude! They dont say hi, thank you, please, they will let a door slam right in your face, if u bump into them they are ready to fight . I was raised where if u make eye contact with someone that passes by u, u are to say hey how are u or at least smile at them. Then when my NY fam comes down to visit here in Georgia, all they talk about is how much better NY is and how they are more up to speed. They treat us like we are dumb and stupid in the south. Its crazy! I see no difference, the ATL is just like NY but the people are more friendly, in my opinion. How do u feel about it?

I have mixed feelings about this. I lived in Iowa for 50 years before moving to Tennessee. I found people friendly there, but the pace was so slow it drove me crazy. I hated things like having to wait in line at the bank while the teller had lengthy conversations with everyone ahead of me in line. And I didn't like the clannishness -- the feeling that I was only an outsider. In fact, one teacher at my school told me that she felt only teachers originally from the area should work there. I can tell you, I was very glad to move back to Iowa.

"In fact, one teacher at my school told me that she felt only teachers originally from the area should work there. I can tell you, I was very glad to move back to Iowa" I dont think that is fair for that person to say that. Everyone should have an opportunity to work no matter where they came from.
