i'm sure u r or had been a student, whoever u r. right? and don't u think we r living in a society filled with exams and tests. do u like being examed? so many people today are taking exams to get a certificate or a degree or a post, for a job, for a living and for a better future. in China, when u walk on the street on an early morning, u can c some primary school students are pulling their wheeled book bags, not carring it on the back, coz bags r too heavy to carry. poor kids.

I really don't like exams but exams are a good way to gauge the standard of a student. But nowadays the papers are getting more and more difficult in every strata of education. Nowadays exam questions go beyond the norm of comprehension but also critical thinking. Poor kids, I really pity them. It's a crazy amount they have to study, I'm so glad I'm almost done with studies.

yeah, poor kids. i often see some kids are pulling their heavy bookbags. i've been to some high schools and observed a lot of classroom esl teaching, to my surprise that there are piles of piles of textbooks and exercise books placed on student's desk, if you are the teacher standing at the front, you can hardly see the student's face.

That is a bad state they are in, I hope they do not need to lug the textbooks to and fro from home. It would really kill the back. I think it's due to the amount of books I used to carry to school that is causing my back problem now. Sigh, the effects of school.

When it comes to exams, I have always been nervous. In college, I made good grades. I guess it's just the thought of being tested. I am usually one of the last ones finished, but my scores are usually higher than the majority of the class. Maybe I need a chill pill on the day of the exam??

hi, nurseia, welcome to mylot family. though i'm a teacher now, when i hear the word exam, i also feel nervous or my heart beats faster. lol in most exams, i also score higher than others, but the day before the exam, i couldn't go to sleep easily, carring a kind of anxiety. lol, maybe i need a chill pill, 2. on the contrary, exams are not that, as one mylotter says, exams can test out knowledge, as long as we do not cheat, but a life of exams is not that good. lol BTW, nurseria, why not get icon picture or an avatar? lol good luck

Hi XoyyoX, thanks for your helpful advice and warm welcome. I'm not quite sure yet what avatar I want to use. I will come up with something. In the future, if I have to take an exam, I will try to be as calm as a cucumber (hopefully) lol.

I used to be in college and I took a lot of exams. I didn't stress myself out about them. I usually got good grades. I even got good grades on exams from hard classes. I liked it when exam time came around because I didn't have any homework to do. I just had to study.

I like having exams very much because it serves as a measuring device that determines your intelligence quotient. Not the exact IQ tests, though. But still, I hate having exams on subjects like Practical Arts, particularly, Basic Typing and Office Application, Home Economics (it's called Technology and Livelihood Education but I prefer it that way) and lastly, Social Studies. These are the subjects I'm worst at. Or at least, I just 'self-proclaimed' that...
