well there are all kinds here. when i first got married (i had a little thing at my hubby's parents house that was the official marriage and had a normal wedding later.. i didn't want the actual wedding but family wanted it so we just did it) i wore a sun dress and then i had an actual wedding dress made for the big wedding that was white long and long sleeves with an empire waistline but no train.. it was ok.. but i didn't want the wedding so i didn't really get excited about the dress.. but it was hand made for me by a lady so that was cool.. I'm just not a dress person.. lol..

hi dear moonlitmagikchild. great you had the fun twice. did you ever wear any of the wedding dress again? i some how feel it can be used in your early days immediately after marriage on some occasion like your cousins or your hubby`s cousins wedding etc. but after some tie you will feel embarrassed to use it again. what do you say?

yeah dear nupats i enjoyed your feelings of competing with the other bride. and i feel the bridal dress is so costly and the effort to keep it safe and secure for the rest of your life is rather enormous. so why do we spend so much money on this?

yes dear nupats that is true, the excitement factor wins, and all couples loose big money over it.

The wedding gown used by brides here are the western style white lacy gowns. I wore a beautiful white gown which I specially custom made for my wedding. I have not used it again cos it is meant to be worn once in a lifetime and more over I have grown double my size.

hi zandi each one marries once (normally-save multiple marriages of today), so the wedding gown or some such dress is for single use only. but the cost of the wedding dress is growing enormously. with zari , brocade diamonds and gold being used to decorate it . in good number of cases it is running into millions!!!i understand that you are so conscious of your health then why dont you pay some special attention to your size?

Some brides just use brides gown from a rental store. Or some just find it from a store that selling brides gown in a cheap price. They said you use it once why buy the expensive one, but others said that you will be married once why not buy the best and beautiful gown for your wedding. What do you think?

very smart . i also feel as the discussion is developing if it is too bright and costly when will you wear it again? and with the costs shooting through the roof it is obviously better to go for the rented one. no fear of keeping i in the safe for ever.

Hi Kushank In my country brides wear Silk sari as the bridal dress. I also wore a silk sari. The brides here usually wear golden or diamond ornaments at the time of their wedding. Actually in our custom we wear three sarees one after the other. One Silk saree during the main wedding ceremony and as a part of this the bride groom will give the bride two sarees one traditional sari and one silk sari. The Bride has to wear the traditional one soon after this and when she leaves to bridegroom's house she has to wear the second sari given by the bridegroom.

hi msedge you are real smart . since they were ordinary clothes you can use it any time again unlike most of the women out here who have answered this question.
