one thing i like about my people culture(eastern nigeria, ibo tribe) is their marriage ceremony, during traditional marriage ceremony the bride's father or a representative of her father will give her a caup of palm wine, which she is expected to drink from the search for her husband in the crowd present and when she found her, she is expected to give the drink to the husband the husband will drink it and then put some money in the cup and both the groom and the bride will return the cup with the money inside to the father.

i was born in mix-tribes. i mean, my father was from Sumatra island (Batak tribe) and my mother was from Kalimantan/Borneo (Banjar tribe) and i was born in Java island. in my father culture, before had married, the women had ceremony called "ngalapan boru" that mean to make their family name are accepted by the men family's name. it is because the bataknese had very persistent patrilianism. in my mother culture, Banjar tribe, i think the culture had been influenced by the Islamic cultures, so the Banjar traditional wedding ceremony closely similiar with Islam rites. in Javanese traditional wedding ceremony more complex, or even confused. some day, i will posting the traditional wedding ceremony to my blog. if you you want to know, you can contact me.
