I never restrict nor limit my daughter from watching tv.But she is just not fun of doing it that much. She loves more on singing so she does it most of the time than watching tv.I just read an article that tv is bad for kids.Researchers said that each hour of them watching tv theres an increase risk of Attention Deficit Disorder(ADD) because TV gets kids accustomed to a level of stimulation that is much higher than they would experience in life.Combine this with rapid changing of images characteristic of children's programming and you've set kids up to be ill-suited to deal with school, homework, concentration, reading and real life in general.Studies show that as TV viewing increases academic performance decreases. What are your opinion about this?

hi dear msedge. absolutely right. one thing is over exposure to radiation. color tv sets are working on very high voltage and produce lot of radiation which affects our eyes and our brain cells. apart from that the quality of production of tv programes is not as per the specific level of orientation of each child. each child is different and there is a risk of losing originality by watching stereo typed tv productions. the child will develop a tendency to start thinking according to the production due to over indulgence. you can call it induced thinking process. obviously overindulgence will have an impact on studies.

I don't thik that TV is really bad for kids, as long as they watch TV responsibly, and their parents keep them away from material that may be harmful for them. It's not the media itsself that is dangerous, it's how it is viewed.

I agree, kids should have limitations not to be disturb by their studies and should be guided by parents.
