I guess can...i eat meat and i also love animals, but somewhere in the corner of my heart, i feel guilty for it too, but even if turn to a vegetarian, i am again killing the plants there which equally has life right, so its all the same in being a vegetarian and a nonvegetarean right?!

I feel exactly as you do. studies have shown "reactions to pain stimuli" by veggies also. But I also think if it this way, other animals eat lower species to survive, how are we any different? So I have no problem eating either. I eat to live, not live to eat.

yes...in fact there are fruitarians who eat only fruits that fall off themselves from the trees or plants and the seeds and nuts which fall naturally since they dont like hurting plants and animals...i guess there might be a handful of people like them right, let me start a discussion on that and if there are any fruitarians here

Well I am sure you have heard that if you talk to your plants they do better. That study was done quite awhile back.

I wouldn't feel so bad unless your eating domesticated animals such as your dogs and cats. God put these animals on earth for us to live off of. It is the circle of life. I love animals, but still eat cows.

This is a very confusing situation. While vegans will feel animal lovers have to be vegans or vegetarians, non vegetarians may not feel so. Neither is wrong because it is all a matter of beliefs and personal preferences. This is one of those questions that will not get a definite yes or no for answer. It is interesting to see all the responses. Thanx for posting this discussion.

yeah i dont think you can really win either way and i dont eat meat often so at least i feel ok with that im not like some people that have to have it at every meal but some times a dish i like has to have meat in it or i some times feel better when eating some meats but a lot of meat when i eat it makes me sick but so does fruit so i think its just my digestion probs on that part

I am a huge animal lover. I have several animals running around my yard. I enjoy eating chicken. even thou I have four laying hens. I eat beef and pork, not to much pork. Yes the have life and no I dont feel sorry sometimes when I dont eat meat my Iron bottoms out and I pass out so I have to eat red meat. I dont feel guilty cause that is what this animals where raised for our consumption. But I would not eat dog, cat, rabbit, or horse. They are domesticated animals and my favorite kind.

I'm a huge animal lover, but I've no problem with eating meat, as long as I'm not emotionally attached to it. I wouldn't eat any of our cats, but anything else is fair game. I've eaten Alligator steaks, and kangaroo burgers before now. If they started making Kentucky Fried Panda Cubs (They're finger-Lingling good!), I'd eat those too ;)
