Do You Like Winning Competitions and Have You Ever Won Anything?

July 1, 2008 10:52am CST
I was wondering - do you like to win things? Are you choosey about what competitions you enter, or do you just enter anything in the hope of winning something!? - anything will do (lol). No matter which you are, have you ever won anything? If so, what did you win and was it worth having? As for me, lets see - as a kid I won a red go cart - it was great! As an adult, hmmmmm, I have won various weekends away but they all end up costing you more than it is worth. I did once win an all expenses trip to Egypt with a Nile Cuise included... long story, but in the end I never ended up taking the trip!!! :¬( If you like winning things and live in the UK - I am currently running a monthly competition on my website - violetdreamslingerie.co.uk. You can get there from my profile page - have a look, all you have to do to take part is to register - it's easy and doesn't cost anything and you could win some lingerie! Good luck Violetdreams

I have entered many competitions and have won a few things...if it requires that something be sold I usually win...I am a very good saleperson! LOL....I also enter writing competitons....and have awards to prove it...but they don't give alot of money or prizes in that category...but the sales....well I rock at that and have won a few cool things.

I love to enter competitions where I have an interest.. for example..i'm an actor and love to enter theatre competitions.. won many in high school and such but now when it comes to just the random luck of the draw kind of thing... like someone said earlier it usually costs something... another example on that..when my husband and I married we won a trip to the bahamas...paid about $1000 for some cookware and never took the trip! Haha funny how that works, huh?!

For me, participating is much more important than winning a competition. Participating means trying which is a matter of effort. But however, winning will add additional satisfaction to our participation....

You are so right ... and, if you don't try you can't win - right? You will never know what you might have missed out on. Good luck in all your competitions that you enter - hope you win something great!

I have won several small things in my day, but nothing major. I once won a quilt that was probably worth about one hundred dollars, but I never liked it and it is packed away. I should try to sell that thing on ebay. It's probably somebodies cup of tea. I also won a trip to florida, that was totally free including airfare.

Wow, a trip to Florida! Where in the US do you live? Was it a trip worth taking? Did you enjoy it - Disney?? I would love to go there. I spent some time (a while back) on the West Coast (SFO) but never got to the East Coast - sadly!

I love winning competitions. Hell, even scoring runner-up gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling :) But then again, I dont win much of competitions. Though it would be really awesome if I did:) How unfortunate that I dont live in UK, I would totally join to enter that competition of yours :) well good luck with it anyway, I knowthat running competitions can be as challenging as entering them :)

Hello.. well I do like trying out new things with a desire to win...but when it comes to competitions there is no question of losing. I am still 19 and haven't tried a lot of things but as a school kid I have won quite a few competitions and the prize has mostly been a book or other. Now as I look forward to face this huge world filled with enormous opportunities, strategists and opportunistic s I find myself preparing to face awide range of never ending challenges.

I used to take part in debates in college and won quite a few awards. I also like working on the rubix cube when I was a school and remember having won an award in a competion

I have participated and won prizes. As an adult I am more confidsent than before. It has improved my self confidence. Recently I learned that I was good at playing dart. By the way, is the competition on lingerie designing? Is it open to inetrnational residents or just UK residents?

I have always been in various competitions. From sports-related competitions to those that are literary-musical in nature. I always aim high when it comes to these competitions. I have somehow proven myself in different areas. Of course, there were times when I lost but that's okay. What is important is that I have learned.

It is always fun to win something even if it is something small like a peice of candy. I have not won anything recently. A couple of years ago I won a new dvd player in a raffle. I already had one so I ended up putting it in my room. I don't watch it that often but it's good for those eyes only movies lol.

Sure, winning is fun. Once I entered my rigatoni in a cooking contest and won. Actually, my rigatoni recipe has won two contests. :-) When I was a kid, my mom won $2500 in groceries - when my dad was temporarily laid off. Boy was that a great prize. My mom used to enter all kinds of sweepstakes. Once she one a year's worth of popsicles. Weird.

Yes I like winning Competitions. Who doesn't want to ? Its just the fact that they don't trust these things. I have some trust not on these things but on my Luck. I have won big competitions in the past through which I have earned lot of money. Sometimes I think that I'm very lucky and go for some more contests and as usually get lost and lose nothing. Its just the matter of Luck.

I am not very lucky when it comes to winning things. I remember as a child I won this gorgeous teddy bear koala, I won it through my school fair. I was only about 8 or 9 at the time and when I was in class the teacher was doing the card for it and what we had to do to win it was to guess its name. I had to ask her about some work and while I was at her desk I saw the name she had picked for the bear! So I remembered it and as soon as I got to the fair I went straight to that stall and got my name down for it, and of course I won! Apart from that the only thing I ever won (without cheating) was a big mac from Mcdonalds.
