touching other's lives

.. they say, it is when you touch other's lives that you start feeling the worthiness of your life.. but it is when you let others realize their value that makes life more worthwhile.. how could we touch other's lives then..? do we need to befriend them to touch their lives..? or do we need to die for them to let them realize their worth..?
