I was watching the news last evening about the heavy rains in Mumbai and how the city nearly paralysed the city. They had experienced one of the worst in thier memory about 2 years ago. The recent rains in Bangladesh, the ones in China also came to mind. It is indeed sad to know the misery and destruction these heavy rains bring to the regions affected. Loss of lives, livelyhood, homes being washed away, crops being destroyed, cities coming to a standstill, daily work getting affected, transportation coming to a halt and the worse which follows in the forms of diseases. I have been extremely fortunate in not having been caught up or not having had to face this kind of a situation. But my thoughts and prayers go out everytime to people who get affected by thee events. If any of you have had to go through a situation of having your adversly life affected by such an event please share it.

This is sad indeed! We are living on the edge today where staying alive is a miracle and to top that these natural catastrophes!! Can you imagine the plight of the affected. Earthquakes, typhoons, land slides, major floods... unbelievable. What more alarming is the fact that most are man made. Green house gas is the cause and we are responsible for this global warming. We must start to conserve our earth, water, energy and everything that takes. We have started it and we must try and reverse it in whatever way possible. Thanks for a touching discussion.
