Can you live without Stabucks?

Seattle-based coffee giant Starbucks plans to close 600 underperforming stores in the U.S. and says it expects to open fewer than 200 new stores in the U.S. in 2009. My hubby and I go once a month or so, It is sort of a date. Short but sweet. I'll miss it if they close both of the stores near us. Do you have a Starbucks story?

I go very infrequently, but I like to make a stop at a time. If a few stores close, I think I'll still be ok.

My life can live without Starbucks. First, I am not that keen on coffee. I like it, but I don't drink it often. Besides, the price in Starbucks is very expensive. Even if an instant coffee can be enough for me, so I don't have to pay expensive money for a cup of coffee. Third, I don't have so much time to spend in Starbucks. I can't stay there for a whole day just to drink a cup of coffee but do nothing. I love China

I do not go to Starbucks, but maybe once every few years, so yes I could live without them. The last time I remember going to Starbucks was when my son was only about 16 months old. I was meeting my brother there after he got off work one night and dropping my son off with him because I had a part time evening job at the time. He was running a few minutes behind, so he sent his friend from work over to keep me company while I waited for him( the Starbucks was just across the parking lot from his work). My son had his first taste of a Frapachino that night.

I don't have one as I have never liked Starbucks coffee.. I have always thought that it tasted like coffee that had been left in the pot for a few day.. But again, that is the kind of coffee that I get served when visiting my sister also.. That is sweet about the Starbucks date, we usually have a once a month Baskin Robbins date, now that is more to my liking..

I'm not a coffee drinker so they never got a nickel from me, I don't care if they close those stores or not.

I brew much better coffee that Starbucks, but I'm really not liking the idea that they are closing 600 stores. This is one company that is known for taking care of it's employees, and that's a pretty rough sign of our rapidly declining economy. Funny story about Starbucks is that I only used to go there for tea! LOL! :) Now for some good news, here's my recipe! :) http://www.mixeddrinkworld.com/drink/Coffee-or-Tea/Po-Folks-Premium-Home-Brew/1884 I hope they don't close your Starbucks, but if they do, at least you won't have to suffer for good coffee! :)

Thank you for the B/R! :) I forgot to mention that my style of coffee is VERY robust, and it makes a great iced coffee, too! :) I'll take an orange peel or lemon peel, and rub the skin around the inside of a large glass, before adding the ice and coffee. I use powdered sugar as a sweetener. Powdered cream products may be added if you desire... Thanks again, I hope that you will enjoy your coffee! :)

That's awesome that you & your husband make time for each other. Keep it up! Now, as for Starbucks.....I'm really in the minority. I don't care for it, so I could live without it. I don't know what it is, but the coffee tastes burnt to me. Maybe I just have sensitive taste buds???
