Being a trained church musician, I have often had to deal with people with many crazy personalities and (shall we say) piccadillos. I would be interested in hearing some stories from some of you musicians who deal with multiple people on a regular basis. There must be enough stories out there to write a book. In fact, I plan to write a book on the subject one day. So let's hear some of those horror, or happy stories.

I am not a musician...but a praise for church musicians. I used to attend a very tiny church (fixing to start going back in Aug.). The pastor and his wife left, and his wife was the one to play the piano every Sunday. Alot of people stopped attending during the time that we had not pianoist. One of the ladies of the church stepped up and started playing again and it really brought people together again on Sundays. Thanks to all the musicians...yall have a really special talented that is appreciated more than you know!!

Thank you for your comment, meggan79. I've been a church musician for about 50 years (Ouch!). Now, I'm semi-retired and working part time in a very growing church full of young people. In that time you get all kinds of singers from people who think they can't sing (but were good enough to give some the best professionals a run for their money), to those have some talent but have no idea how to use it. Worse, they think they are God's gift to music. One of these days I'll write a book or maybe a play.

I fall into the catagorey of wishing I could but not good enough to. That was what was great about the church when I was growing up there. Even though I was bad everyone was nice enough to pretend I was ok. Got to be a star for five min. lol. But loved when the one guy would play the guitar when I sang, cause everyone had to tell us how great we were (cause he was really really really good).
