Is the WWE completely scripted and fake?

I know the overall plot is scripted and known beforehand to the superstars, but during matches, is every move they make already rehearsed or are they just winging it as they go? And do any of the moves they do actually hurt or are they all designed just to look good? And lastly I'm under the impression that the ring is made like a trampoline, so it doesn't hurt when you hit it?

Since I started watching WWE I was also informed that everything is scripted and planned before hand. Nevertheless, I still watch it because the action is really captivating. I remember that from a TV program that tried to expose the tactics of WWE, it did show that moves during matches are just done as they go and not rehearsed because to rehearse would be too long (some matches are like 30 minutes + long) and those wrestlers could forget what they are supposed to do. Wrestlers communicate while they are fighting and since the crowd is so noisy they can't really hear what the wrestlers talk anyway. Also, some moves done by wrestlers do hurt. If moves go wrong, it can hurt badly. For example, you see wrestlers bleed when they use some metal stuff or some hard object to beat the opponent; those bleeding are real. I also remember seeing a match where a wrestler got slammed by another wrestler and that wrestler suffered a broken backbone. That was real too as I read news about it on the internet. Yea, that's why you see all those messages telling viewers not to attempt wrestling moves at home..... Lastly, I guess you are right about your impression that the ring is made like a trampoline to reduce the hurt when a wrestler gets slammed. The WWE people try to make everything as safe and "hurtless" for their wrestlers while getting the action carried out. I remember that TV program that I mentioned about earlier also showed that underneath the wrestling ring, there's a microphone that amplifies the sound many many times over so that when a wrestler gets slammed on the ring the sound is loud, which makes it sound painful. That's another tactic that they use. Yeah, that's about all that I can rant here. Hope it somehow answers your questions!

I know it is fake. But I don't care I will watch WWE until it is no longer on. I think that the danger is really there and wrestlers can really get hurt bad. So there are some real aspects to it. Maybe that is why I Love to watch it.

To say it is ALL scripted would be false. They have a script stating who will win, how they win, who will have the upperhand in the match and the rest is improvisational theatre. They want it to look as real as possible so they let them play their role as long as they stay within script. To have everything rehearsed would just looked staged as it is the little stumbles and falls that make it look real. Does it hurt? Hell yeah it does!! Tell me someone that can say that being slammed on concreat does not hurt and that is someone with issues, even with the little padding they have on the solid floor. the figure four actually hurt as I know from breaking my brother's leg with it as a kid messing around. They are professionals so they know how to land and how to absorbe a blow to minimise the pain but thre is pain none the less. As for the ring being alike a trampoline. You are absolutely right but it is made to have a little less spring so that those 400lb bohemeths don't fly into the rafters. As one of the posters above me stated the ring does have mics to make it so very much louder and as such much more realistic. WEather real or not it is one hell of a show although it does have some redeculous plots!! Have a great day!!!

I wouldn't say fake because to me that's the wrong word. What you see requires some athletic ability. These moves do hurt but whether or not it is at a high level is another story. The ring is very hard and can hurt. I think I saw something where they use wood. If it was a trampoline, you'd see more jumping and bounching higher in the air. Most likely I would believe there'd be more accidents. I don't know if all the moves are planned or not but sometimes things go wrong and accidents happen. Injuries are for real. It would have to depend on the superstars themselves. The outcomes are predetermined and the storylines are planned but sometimes even that can change due to injuries, suspensions, or the fact that no one cares one way or the other.

What I heard from watching a show on this stuff,is that the outcomes are determined beforehand, but it is up to the wrestlers on how they will lose the match.

Ya it is all scripted , the fights however to some extent are real. But the wrestlers practice them in such a way that when they execute them , even though they look dangerous they are not harmful to them . There is some element of risk involved in terms of injury to the wrestlers . I have and will always continue to watch WWE . I have been watching it since my childhood.

Well Buddy let me tell you that i am a really very very very big fan of WWE since my childhood. I used to like the matches and wrestlers as well, My favourite players were ROCK,BROCK,JOHN CENA, STONE COLD, currently KHALI. But later I had heard that it is completely fake, it is preplanned that who is gonna do what. But even then I am not sure right now, but i CONTINUE to watch it, What is there if it is fake or not. Good Day.

"I know the overall plot is scripted and known beforehand to the superstars, but during matches, is every move they make already rehearsed or are they just winging it as they go?" The matches are carefully planned ahead of time. Wrestlers get together before a match to discuss it and they sometimes discuss what they're going to do during the match. Of course, in some cases, like The Montreal Screwjob, Bret Hart didn't know Vince would abruptly call for the bell when HBK had him in the Sharpshooter. "And do any of the moves they do actually hurt or are they all designed just to look good?" Yes, that's why they say don't try this at home. They're trained professionals and have to know how to protect each other in the ring. Still, accidents happen. Moves get botched and so forth. "And lastly I'm under the impression that the ring is made like a trampoline, so it doesn't hurt when you hit it?" I'm pretty sure it hurts. Wrestlers have to know how to take bumps and they have to know how to protect each when doing moves. They have to be able to trust each other. It takes a toll on their bodies from what I've read.

firstly the matt isn't like a trampoline, it is cushioned tho. In wrestling the matches and storylines are scripted the booker (guy in charge of the nights events) will give the wrestlers the outcome they want so basically will tell them who is going to win and anything they want to have in the match too, if they have something special planned for example or a run in by another wrestler. It is then up to the wreslters themselves to choreograph the match themselves. they will sit and discuss what will happen and any moves they want to put in there. When they are in the ring they will give each other cues to let them know what they are going to do next etc. Please dont forget tho that it is a contact sport and most of the slams etc do hurt a little, the art of a good wreslter tho is to make them look realistic enought but hardly hurt your 'opponant'. at the end of the day the wreslters are stil very well groomed athletes and have to train very hard and be very dedicated and physically fit.

It pains me to say that it's fake. I watched one of thier interviews and they themselves (wrestlers)admit it. For them its just like theater, its all scripted. Triple H even said that "wrestling is like a sports theater".. However, I still find it entertaining...I'm still a hard core fan of WWE!! They ROCK....
