Well, I am off for a vacation tomorrow. I will be gone for a week and I have to take a plane to get where I am going. I tend to get very nervous when I am on a plane and the last time I went on one I had something which was like a mini seizure. I don't know why I am affected so badly. To make it worse, my girlfriend is staying home and not coming this time. what about you? Do you get nervous when flying on a plane? Any tips to get over this? cheers,

However I would like to get on one and have planned too but plans have changed so I don't know when I hopefully soon and I hope that I don't get scared and freak out when I do get on it and it lifts off... I have no idea how it even feels lift off and landings...

I get very nervous during take-off, but that's it. I absolutely love flying!!! And I especially love landing. But I get a tad bit nervous and scared during take-off. But after that, I'm good! I usually take pictures out the window of the plane during take-off and that really helps calm my nerves! I get so focused on trying to compose interesting shots that I don't really worry about what's going on. The last time I flew, I took a picture of my house during take-off so that was pretty cool! Anyway, I hope you have a fun vacation! Hopefully your flight won't be that bad! My advice would be to find something to do to take your mind of things. What is something that really relaxes you? Do you like to draw? Or read? Or write? Or listen to music? Or play games? Maybe even bring along a children's coloring book and some crayons- that's my favorite mindless activity for taking my mind off things!

Good evening, dear golfproo. I have been in a plane trip for three times and I don't feel nervous at all. I think that it is safe and fast. It is not that often when there is a plane accident though it does happen sometimes.

I don't get to the point of a seizure but my hands sweat pretty much constantly until I'm back off the plane. I don't know what might help you other than a distraction. I have tried to make sure I'm part way into a good book and try to read as much as I can on the plane. My hands end up black from the ink and the sweat mixing, but it definitely helps the time pass.

Sometimes, I do get nervous when I am on a plane and I know why... "The plane might crash": this is the thought that always pops out of my mind whenever I am on a plane...And knowing that the plane has no parachutes, just life jackets, how would I survive if the plane crashes on mountains not on water? If there are parachutes and the plane is about to crash, I could just grab one and jump out of the plane...

i'm a bit nervous during the take off and landing... but when the plane is already flying smoothly in the sky, then i am alright... i am a bit scared when the plane jerked as well because of the turbulence caused by wind... i usually try to overcome it by sleeping on the plane or pray... enjoy your vacation tomorrow and have fun... take care and have a nice day...

I have flown several times and I love that way of traveling. Flying doesn't make me nervous at all. When I flew out of the Denver air port I didn't like the take off or lading. The pilot had to do a sharp turn almost as soon as we were air born and it felt like a roller coaster ride. I was thankful that it didn't last long. I don't care to ride roller coasters. I like setting beside the window and watching the ground. I have ridden in both large snd small plains. You are just as safe in an airplane as you are speeding down the highway. Safer infact. so relax and enjoy your flight.

I got very nervous when I took my first long-haul from London Heathrow to Portland, Oregon via Vancouver. The initial flight with Air Canada Air Bus, was of nine and a half hours duration, and as the guy sitting next to me went to watch the in-flight movie, I had nobody to talk to. I tried to sleep, but every time there was the slightest air pocket, I woke up... I hated it! However, on the way back, I was seated next to a very nice Canadian gentlemen, who managed to keep me from being afraid, even though we flew in darkness. Tips? Try taking some Kalms... they're herbal tablets available from health food shops and they're pretty good for nerves. Also, take with you a bag of lavender of a bottle of lavender oil, and breathe the aroma... it will help relax you. Brightest Blessings for a relaxed and smooth flight and a great vacation, my friend.

i got the chance to go to Thailand few years back and that's the only time i got to take a plane, its my first out of the country trip and i was really exited, no i did not feel the nerve wrecking nervous, all i feel was excitement and anticipation of what lies ahead. I'm not afraid of the heights and i don't fear flying.

I always get a bit nervous. Especially if we hit turbulance. Security issues at the airports bother me too. WOnder how safe we truly are. You may have experienced sickness from the pressurized cabin. Please be careful.

Planes don't make me nervous at all. If I were you, I'd remind myself that it's the safest way to travel. Next time, ask your doctor for a mild tranquilizer and that might help! I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

I remember the first time I took plane when I went to Boracay. I feel so excited and yet so nervous at the same time. I am afraid that I might vomit inside the airplane or get dizzy. but thank God, that the flight was a success. . I never vomit and I never felt dizzy also. I was so happy and I really enjoyed that experience.
